Riley St Garage offers patrons a taste of New York's Meatpacking district, with a hint of 1930s glamour, and a menu that pays homage to Modern Australia and the crisp notes of the sea.

Riley St Garage, a 200-seater restaurant inspired by New York’s Meatpacking District, opened in 2013, bringing 1930s glamour to Woolloomooloo.

Originally Australia’s first full service garage, the building was renovated and re-imagined, accentuating its art deco design into a grand bar and restaurant.

The venue is distinguished by its enormous brass island bar, proudly taking centre-stage in the large industrial space. Here the chefs shuck oysters and guests can soak up the restaurant’s busy yet relaxed atmosphere.

Riley St Garage serves a diverse share concept menu, anchored by an Oyster Bar and raw food menu developed by Executive Chef Marcelino Papio Jnr.

The Smokey soy truffle oysters are a favourite to start, progressing from small to large share plates – Crispy pork knuckle is a local favourite and make sure to ask your mechanic about the dessert platters.

It’s a treat for all, from solo diners chasing that elusive cocktail or a late-night snack, to large groups looking for a full degustation experience complemented by a vast wine selection.

All of us were talking for days about how unbelievable the food was here. It was off to a good start with happy hour wines and beers and oysters with yuzu granita. Some amazing cocktails on their list which absolutely deliver on all ingredients. By far the standout was their food however, all of which is designed to be shared. All dishes were outstanding, but the kingfish starter and the lamb were to die for. The service was fantastic. Couldn't fault them on anything based on my experience. I will 100% be bringing people back here.
