  • Discover Logi Robertson Quay’s Culinary Gem with Harnoor Channi-Tiwary

The laid-back enclave of Robertson Quay has a new food destination and it’s been making waves. Logi at Robertson Walk boasts a contemporary and stylish interior that complements its vibrant atmosphere. The space is characterised by sleek lines, warm lighting, and a sophisticated colour palette. Modern furnishings and tasteful decor create an inviting ambiance, perfect for both casual gatherings and intimate dinners. The open-kitchen concept allows for an interactive dining experience, while formal tables offer diners a choice of environments to enjoy their culinary experience.

As you step into the cavernous dining room with an open kitchen all along one side, you are greeted with warm hospitality and the promise of something unique. The contemporary art hung on the industrial-chic walls is a great conversation starter, allowing you to gather your thoughts on what the artist is trying to convey through the 3D illusion frames. Attention to detail is key here, with beautiful glassware for every type of beverage, including double-walled water glasses.

The menu at Logi showcases choicest meats and several vegetarian options, with several wood-fired dishes served as large plates, perfect for communal dining. Bring your friends along, for the tipples are worth a mention too. Unlike usual bar menus, the beverage program at Logi attempts to showcase sake as a versatile Asian drink of choice. The restaurant offers Sake Pairing where French-Japanese dishes are paired skillfully with sublime sake, breaking the myth that food-beverage pairing is only possible with wines.

Corn Ribs

We started our meal with small plates with a glass of medium-bodied red wine. The Corn Ribs ($14), on-trend these days, were a delicious bar bite, showered with cajun seasoning and served with a torched Japanese-style tobiko mayonnaise dip. To complement the wine, we were also served a portion of the 7-Day Aged Chicken Wing ($17), dried and stuffed with a flavoursome chorizo. The chicken wings were unlike any you may have had before, a nod to the talent in the kitchen showcased in a subtle form.

Vegetarian guests will also like the intricately layered Potato Pave ($16). Think slivers of crispy potato layered kueh-like, served atop charcoal cream, salmon roe and herb oil. The cream deftly absorbed the oiliness of the potatoes, with roe lending it a burst of seasoning with every mouthful. The Shitake Focaccia ($14) was a great accompaniment that may be ordered alongside, charred and smoky, to be dipped into shroom water full of umami.

Wagyu Rib Finger

While young groups may choose to drop in for after-work drinks and bar bites, I would highly suggest you stay for the mains as that is where Logi shines. The ethos of the restaurant is truly embodied in the smoky mains, at a time when wood-fired menus are quite the rage in Singapore. Wood-fired cooking is not merely a marketing gimmick at Logi, rather the ethos that the kitchen swears by.

Take, for example, the star dish of the evening - the Beef Bone Marrow, Black Origin Wagyu Rib Cap with Shallot Confit & Toast ($56). Melt-in-the-mouth Wagyu chunks placed over delicate bone marrow meat, to be scooped up with toast and served with daikon to cleanse the palate - the best French restaurants in the world would be happy to serve Logi’s version of this dish in their starred menus. If you don’t prefer beef, the Australian Lamb Short-Ribs ($28) were able contenders, with a rich glaze balanced with a dollop of yoghurt.

Smoked Chocolate Brownie

Light appetisers and rich meat-heavy mains called for a perfect finish, presented by Logi’s unique Smoked Chocolate Brownie ($16). With smoke adding a savoury element to the slim slice of brownie topped with Miso Cream, the dessert is served with homemade vanilla ice cream for those seeking a sweeter finish.

Logi is that hidden gem that your friends should have told you about. Sourcing its meats from a specialised butchery, the restaurant serves quality proteins at an incredible value, a theme running through its attractive beverage offerings too. With a classy dining room in a popular setting such as Robertson Quay, it is sure to make its mark in Singapore’s exciting food scene.
