The Ride Side, Singapore's trailblazing adventure sports company, is ready to transform Orchard Road into the epicentre of board sports, art, and music with the debut of TRIFECTA. TRIFECTA, Asia's pioneering snow, surf, and skate lifestyle destination, will launch a month-long celebration from Saturday, 28 October to Sunday 19, November 2023.
TRIFECTA's 49,000 sqft venue, designed by The Ride Side in cooperation with Sanwah Construction and Studioshen architects, aspires to democratise boardsports throughout Southeast Asia. The festival, which welcomes both riders and non-riders, offers an exhilarating blend of sports, community participation, art, and music.
Beginning October 28, TRIFECTA will offer a comprehensive programme, encouraging guests to immerse themselves in the dynamic atmosphere of the boardsports culture. There's something for everyone with activities spanning surf, snow, skate, art, music, food, drinks, and lifestyle.
The TRIFECTA Music Festival, taking place November 18-19, will feature three stages, festival zones, and headlining acts such as Phum Viphurit and Lola Amour. Tickets, which go on sale on October 5, guarantee exclusive Ride Pass packages as well as access to enlightening debates on boardsports, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
"The beauty of board sports has always been about being able to ride with anyone in the community while maintaining a sense of individual expression on the board," TRIFECTA Co-Founder Alex Hsu explained.
The first two weeks of the festival (October 28 to November 5) will feature 101 seminars, community snow and skate jams, film screenings, and more. TRIFECTA seeks to make boardsports more accessible by encouraging self-expression in a safe atmosphere.
Olympic Gold Medalist Sakura Yosuzumi, a Red Bull Team Athlete, will take part in the opening ceremonies, skating alongside Singapore's local talent. Meet and greet sessions with Yosuzumi are a rare opportunity for a few lucky admirers.
TRIFECTA also presents Singapore's first board-sports speciality store, offering a wide choice of boards and accessories. TRIFECTA will debut Butter, an all-day eating experience including distinctive butter-flavored meals and trademark bagels in collaboration with Two Men Bagel House.
On November 11-12, TRIFECTA's bi-annual Art Show will highlight the merging of art and board sports. Temple of Skate, a local artist known for fusing skating and Japanese Ukiyo-e art, will be included in the inaugural exhibition.
Visitors will be able to experience Asia's largest standing wave pool, VR ski simulators, and Singapore's first ski-snowboard freestyle dryslope area. TRIFECTA is free to access, with ticketing choices for hourly visits, sharing credit packs, and monthly season passes.
"The opening of TRIFECTA will further diversify Orchard Road's offerings and experiences while enhancing the appeal and youthful vibe of the Somerset sub-precinct," said Ms. Guo Teyi, Director, Retail and Dining, Singapore Tourism Board.
Festival activities in the first three weekends (28-29 October, 4-5 November, 11-12 November) will be free for the public while membership is required for use of the facilities, and registration is required for lifestyle workshops.
