Osteria BBR – a truly decadent champagne brunch at the iconic Raffles Hotel

The new Sunday brunch from Osteria BBR by Alain Ducasse is tackling the highly competitive brunch market head on with its iconic location, Italian riviera inspired dishes and indulgent drinks section.

Located in its own building within the Raffles Hotel complex (the former Bar & Billiard room), Osteria BBR occupies an iconic space worthy of its acclaimed Michelin star chef, Alain Ducasse. The light-filled and modern restaurant exudes an upmarket but bustling and atmospheric vibe.

The new Sunday brunch offers three price points – the Brunch Roma at $168++ for free flowing wine and cocktails, the Brunch Venezia at $198++ for free-flowing Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve and the Brunch Milano at $228++ per person for free-flowing Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose. The free-flow experience includes two hours of your preferred beverage package and a truly indulgent epicurean experience of Italian delights. We started our brunch with some classic Bloody Mary’s but were particularly enthralled by the jeroboam of Rose – a stunningly etched bottle containing a divine Provencal rose.

The food is an outstanding selection of fine-dining worthy Italian fare delivered with speed and grace to your table – that’s right no need to get up and tackle the buffet crowd. This is a classy sit-down affair giving you more time with your friends and more time to enjoy the fabulous drinks on offer.

Highlights from the antipasti selection include Burrata Pugliese with Apulian burrata and eggplant caponata, the half dozen Antilope oysters and Hokkaido scallops with pink grapefruit and crispy quinoa.

The Uovo Strapazatto was a delectable scrambled egg with sea urchin and caviar while the Parapdelle Beef Cheek Ragu came in its own splendid shiny pot served with an onion confit.

Onto the Secondi and it was the brunch classics that stood out – Maine lobster with crispy vegetables and bisque sauce and the Black Angus beef tenderloin with celeriac and truffle jus.

All the dishes were stunningly presented – equivalent to the standards of a Michelin star restaurant and of course with use of the finest ingredients were a mouth-watering delight to the tastebuds as well.

After we were well and truly satisfied the good vibes continued out into the Aperol Spritz garden – a dedicated patio outside the restaurant playing funky tunes and serving our favourite orange drink. The perfect way to end our indulgent day.

Raffles Hotel Singapore strikes again and how! Osteria BBR came into being from the archetypal Bar and Billiard Room at the Raffles Hotel. Celebrity Chef Alain Ducasse leads the kitchen from the front and he’s got every bit of experience under his chef’s hat. People with a soft corner for Italian cuisine will find themselves in luck. The menu features a combo meal with seven signature dishes to give you the best options ever. Some other signatures which should not be missed include the Mazara del Vallo Red Prawn Tartare, which comes with rich and luscious buffalo mozzarella with a dollop of Kristal caviar, and the Vitello Tonnato, a thinly sliced veal with tuna sauce and crispy fennel.
