With the buzz of Haji Lane on its doorstep, Pizza Fabbrica is a must try. Quirky and funky, the stylish deco attracted me. I loved the open light atmosphere that it exuded.
More than a casual touch, I felt the high round glass tables lent more class to this restaurant than I initially thought. The very visible bar in the background was teeming with activity, obviously from patrons’ orders.
Having had a big day, I settled back into a high chair with Pizza Fabbrica’s house red, a chianti in hand. All for a mere $10 a glass this was reprieve from the day gone by. Such a great spot to people watch and let my mind zone out.
The grilled tiger prawns and zucchini were so fresh I knew just by looking at it. So were the Hokkaido scallops and spinach that followed. The top-quality produce fed my premonition that Pizza Fabbrica was a quality venue. And I was so right!
I was told that the home-made spicy pork sausages were to die for. True to recommendation they were. Succulent and made with superior meat, I devoured every morsel knowing that I would be back for this.
Sausages are easy to come by but good ones? Not really. This was a good find I thought. An easy dish to takeaway. Other mains included beef cheeks, seabass, and lasagna. Next time.
Pizza Fabbrica also boasts more than 9 styles of pasta, four of which are vegetarian. Something for everyone, priced at about $25 each. Reasonable considering the quality ingredients that go into it.
I had to try a pizza. To me a Margherita pizza tells all. I look for pizza dough texture and tomato base taste, both of which were stunning. Dine in to enjoy a pizza when it comes out from the wood-fired oven, as it encapsulates the essence of the full experience!
My next visit to Pizza Fabbrica would be to taste the pasta and one of the eight gourmet pizzas on offer. The trick would be to go with a group of friends so I could have more variety.
I already identified the table I would sit at! The table for 8 closest to the bar.
It was nearing 9.30pm and the buzz outside was happening. Haji Lane comes to life later in the night. In Ramadan month it is even more alive as Muslims break fast at sundown and enjoy the merriment that night brings.
With pop ups around Arab Street and venues staying open till late, Café Fabbrica would be a wonderful way to start your night and mosie on down to see what else takes your fancy.

Neapolitan pizza, or pizza Napolitana, is a type of pizza that originated in Naples, Italy. All pizza at Pizza Fabbrica are prepared Neapolitan style where they are fired in the wood fire oven burning at around 450-500 degrees Celsius for no more than 90 seconds, giving the crust the authentic “leopard spotted” char and the smoky-ness.
All pizzas are hand stretched, thin in the centre with a crisp crust on the outside - whilst being fluffily soft inside. The Pizza is topped with raw San Marzano tomato sauce and fresh Mozzarella. The focus here is on delivering a well balanced crust, delicious toppings and locally sourced, quality ingredients. All these traits mentioned are typical of a Neapolitan pizza.
