For those of you who haven’t discovered Wilson’s Cafe in the heart of Rawai, you’ve been missing out for the past year and a half.
Rungruedee Winter, and her husband Jim Winter, are the brain’s behind Wilson’s. They came to Phuket a few years ago determined to overhaul their lifestyle. Jim had recovered from throat cancer and wanted a change of pace from the usual 9-5 in the oil and gas industry. Problem was he could never find the clean unprocessed food that cured his cancer and would keep his body in tip-top condition.
And so they made it their mission to “provide Phuket with all things healthy in one cafe”. But they also wanted to keep it accessible to all types of tastes and preferences.

Wilson's Cafe where meat eaters, vegans and vegetarians mingle was easy as pie to find, plus has the added benefit of plenty of signage outside.
After the obligatory graffiti wall photos were done and dusted, we headed inside to escape the heat and secured the large corner table for our breakfast crew.
Wilson's has been on my list for a few years, so I was delighted to finally get there and check it out for myself (it opened in 2016). I was drawn to it because it prides itself on being all about clean and natural foods, loaded with as many fresh veggies as possible. Next time I will bring my pooches because they have a pet friendly outside deck area, which gets bonus points in my reviews!
So, what is Wilson's all about? Well, underpinning their menu are 3 key values which are frankly hard to come by here in Thailand, but oh so important:
- Unprocessed
- No refined sugars
- Made fresh to order
An eclectic collection of nic naks and beach themed items combine to make for an interesting vibe
A Hungry Bunch
Coffees and fresh juices ordered, we started browsing the extensive food menu. There were a fair few favourite options we could have gone for, which gave us all high hopes for a return visit. The kids fought over the 'call for service' button on our table, and we ordered away. Our full order came out within around 15 minutes, and everything looked tip top. Here's a run down of our order.
We started with the Chocoberry Bowl which had hints of cacao powder, acai berries, banana, dates, and roasted Brazil nuts, affordable at 160bht. The Smashed Avo was a classic with sun-dried tomato and feta on a pan fried baguette with poached egg and side salad and my fave at 185bht.
Other dishes included a Buttermilk Stack of fluffy pancake stack with maple syrup on the side, Eggs Benny Salmon and Gluten Free Me, their gluten free pancakes with berry compote, seed and nut mix, all natural bio yogurt. You can also browse more menu items here.
Prices were reasonable with all dishes under 200bht, and overall breakfast was a hit. The 'Smashed Avo' was fantastic, and my favourite with the combo of feta and sun-dried tomatoes a winner. 'Gluten Free Me' was huge and an interesting idea, plus it's always nice to find gluten free options.
The Bottom Line
Eclectic, beach vibe setting in Southern Phuket, serving clean and healthy food (vegetarian and vegan options available), which still delivered in the taste department. Happy to report they are pet friendly, and dogs are welcome in the outside deck area. Oh, and a fun graffiti wall for Instagram photos too.
