The Sip and Savour extravaganza held at the stunningly beautiful Alkaff Mansion was an evening of indulgence, luxury and cocktails. The event featured a variety of expertly crafted cocktails from the Budi Bar from Malacca, which combined unique flavours of bak kwah, bean sprouts, and pineapple tart to create exceptional and innovative drinks.
Expert mixologists carefully crafted the cocktails, and the menu included a variety of heritage-inspired drinks, each with its unique flavour and story. The use of local ingredients and flavours made each cocktail special and provided a memorable experience for guests. The cocktail menu featured drinks with funky names such as Umbra, SK-Dou, Kuih Teh, Bakwa and Hiap-Hiap Hooray. I couldn’t wait to try the SK-Dou with the bean sprout flavours…and it did not disappoint. It worked with this cocktail!
The event in the Alkaff Mansion’s cellars, also known as The Vault, added to the overall atmosphere of the evening. With the house music DJ, this secret hideaway provided the perfect setting for guests to enjoy the intimate and exclusive environment.
The event also featured a selection of delicious bar snacks to complement the drinks, including tempura calamari, Iberico cuts with tomato bread, and grilled prawns. Each dish was expertly prepared and paired perfectly with the drinks, creating a complete and satisfying dining experience.
The evening’s host was Messiah from Nomadic Collection, who ensured that every guest was well taken care of and that the event ran smoothly from start to finish. The attention to detail was impeccable, and it was clear that the organisers had put much thought and care into curating this exceptional event.

This mansion was first erected in the 1920s by Yemeni spice traders, and it was later reconstructed to host not one but three dining concepts at once. Whether you’re looking for a variety of appetizers coupled with drinks, some decadent pastries and cakes for the ultimate sugar rush, or some Basque inspired favourites like the Paella de Marisco ($52/$72), the restaurants at The Alkaff Mansion will not disappoint you.
Head over to the Txa Pintxo bar up the flight of stairs and beyond the fountain court, for some of the most appetizing tiny bites of food, or skip that and dive straight into the “dessert islands” at Wildseed Café where the weekend brunch can culminate into a romantic affair out in the yard with your partner. Besides, the beautiful second-floor staircases will take you to Una where head Chef Tom Kung and his team won’t let you go hungry with some mouthwatering favourites from the menu.
