The Trenchard Arms

Published - 30 April 2019, Tuesday

Dedicated to producing great and affordable food inspired by the best British and international cuisine using the best and often locally produced ingredients.

Our pastry special this week is that most famous of English meals, the Cornish Pasty.

The wives of Cornish tin miners would prepare pasties for their husbands to support them through the long, damp and arduous hours down the mines – a meal made with love.

The Trenchard Arms' house-made Cornish Pasty features a rich, buttery pastry encapsulating a mix of spiced beef, carrot, potato and onion.

Served with rich English gravy and a fresh garden salad, it’s the perfect meal for the hungry worker.

Excellent local bar. Very friendly team. Great place for casual drinks/dining. All the basics covered but complemented by a pretty impressive back bar! Probably the best fish and chips that I've had in Singapore, but at the other end of the healthy scale, the Rabbits Greens makes an awesome salad! Coupled with Rabbit Carrot Gun casual dining restaurant next door.

The Trenchard Arms passed the Sunday Roast test with flying colors.First time around, I would have liked a little more pork but the over meal was excellent. This week I had a brunch of smashed avocado and poached egg which was great - except the toast was "bread uncooked" and not toasted so I asked for another piece of cooked toast and that was not a problem.... all in all wonderful place..

The venue was packed to the rafters and what looked like at least three seating throughout the 2.5 hours we enjoyed being their. Attached to the Rabbit Carrot Gun kitchen and owners, guests can chose to seat indoors or out. Well worth a booking.

Loved It. Dropped by for the Sunday Roast and it was really nice. Beautifully cooked and presented. Staff were very attentive and the Host was welcoming and cordial throughout. I'm definitely coming back for more.
