Published - 02 August 2024, Friday

Singtel has released its National Day film, "Shining Bright From Singapore to Paris," which is a significant celebration of Singapore's athletes as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The 90-second film follows three notable athletes—shuttler Loh Kean Yew, kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder, and fencer Kiria Tikanah Abdul Rahman—as they prepare for the coveted athletic event. This film, which is part of Singtel's larger mission to support the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC), exemplifies the company's dedication to enabling all generations through technology.

Singtel, a long-time supporter of SNOC, has renewed its sponsorship for the third time. This latest agreement includes a significant S$1.7 million investment over the next five years, the company's largest sports sponsorship to date. These funds will go towards training grants, fees, and other expenses related with important international contests. Mr Yuen Kuan Moon, Singtel's Group CEO, emphasised that the athletes' values of hard effort, focus, and dedication are deeply aligned with the company's aim to inspire and improve communities.

The film depicts athletes preparing for the Olympic Games at renowned Singapore places such as Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, and Henderson Waves in Telok Blangah Hill Park. It emphasises three key components of success: speed, resilience, and tenacity. These themes are reflected in the athletes' individual portions.

Ms. Lian Pek, Singtel's Vice President of Group Strategic Communications and Brand, highlighted how the athletes' tales are consistent with Singtel's ideals.
