The Shangri-La Group has announced plans to develop its first standalone lifestyle and entertainment precinct – The Palawan @ Sentosa, located on Sentosa Island in Singapore. The project builds on, and reaffirms, the Shangri-La Group’s ongoing commitment and support for the Singapore market.
The Palawan @ Sentosa is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2023, and the beach playground will be home to several new-to-Singapore leisure activities. Guests can enjoy a host of lifestyle entertainment and exciting food and beverage options, accompanied by the attention to detail and Asian hospitality that are the hallmarks of Shangri-La.
Taking pole position at The Palawan @ Sentosa is HyperDrive, Singapore’s first gamified electric Go- Kart circuit. With an eco-friendly fleet of electric karts zipping around a three-level racetrack, HyperDrive not only delivers a fun-filled karting experience but also transports drivers into the realm of virtual gaming during their drive.
Armed with an arsenal of ‘special powers’, drivers can turbo-charge their racing experience or sabotage their competitors. HyperDrive at Palawan Sands is expected to be the first-of-its-kind gamified electric go-kart activity in Southeast Asia when it debuts in 2023.
The Palawan @ Sentosa will also feature two unique beach clubs, each catering to different audiences. The first is a sandcastle-themed family beach club which will delight the young and the young at heart and is the perfect destination for kids to play and for parents to chill and unwind. The sandcastle theme was specially chosen as it blends seamlessly with the natural landscape of the Palawan Beach setting.
Complementing the family beach club will be +Twelve (plus twelve), which will bring a new level of sophistication to Singapore’s Beach Club scene. On par with those of the Mediterranean, +Twelve will feature an iconic swim-up bar in the main pool overlooking the shoreline of Palawan beach, and 12 terraced private cabanas, each with their own plunge pool.
Lastly, The Palawan @ Sentosa is also the home of UltraGolf, a brand-new 18-hole mini-golf course, and the popular HydroDash, Singapore’s very first floating aqua water theme park that has been providing thrills and spills for participants since July 2020.
More details on the exciting food and beverage options at The Palawan @ Sentosa will be shared closer to opening.
