The highly anticipated #HuntTheMouse returns to Singapore for its fifth year, with more incentives and more excitement this time around. With a total prize pool of S$1,000,000, this event establishes a new standard for cash hunts, with a grand prize of S$500,000. Today, it draws hundreds of thousands of people, with last year's event gathering an estimated 749,000 hunters. Some of the most determined hunters travelled nearly 1,900 kilometres throughout the event.
This year, hunters can take use of four new power-up elements that improve the gameplay. The Coin Sonar, Metal Detector, Beacon, and Pedometer are all creative techniques to improve hunters' chances of winning. For example, the Coin Sonar enables hunters to scan the surrounding area for silver coins with varied degrees of precision, whilst the Metal Detector transforms a player's phone into a scanning instrument for hidden monies. The Beacon feature fosters community spirit by providing reduced power-up consumption, while the Pedometer promotes health by measuring steps and giving players with Crystals for meeting daily goals.
#HuntTheMouse is free and accessible to all Singaporeans and tourists. The first hunter to locate each coin will be able to redeem it for cash. Throughout the 30-day event, hints for the grand prize gold coin will be posted everyday on Sqkii's social media channels. Hunters can also earn Crystals by performing brand actions, which they can then use to unlock more advanced features such as extra tips and search tools.
