Arts House Limited (AHL) will host the Goodman Open House @ Goodman Arts Centre on June 22, 2024, with a more engaging and educational programme. For the first time, Moonshadow Stories and The Storytelling Centre Ltd.'s Kamini Ramachandran will direct this year's night programme. The event showcases Centre tenants' inventiveness and encourages visitor engagement in artistic activities.
Visitors of all ages can enjoy workshops, performances, and open studios from 10 am to 10 pm. The introduction of an outdoor cinema creates a relaxing evening atmosphere. Drinks and snacks including ice kacang and kacang puteh will be available all day.
Goodman Open House 2024 has many events. Ministry of Bellz's Community Drum Circle promotes public participation in music-making and ends with an Artist Parade. After this vibrant celebration, Neil Chua's Nature's Resonance outdoor sound bath relaxes visitors. Nighttime Movie Night in the Garden at the amphitheatre will include Barbie, a live BBQ, and drinks.
The festival also promotes young artists. Children can learn about relaxing musical instruments at Ruanatworkz's Healing Harmonies and Checkpoint Theatre's Monster Magic workshop. Sustainable art approaches including natural indigo dyeing will be taught by Khairulddin Wahab and Felix Nai in workshops.
Open Studios allow visitors to see over 66 artists and arts groups' workspaces. DPLMT's 3D resin printing and tufting and The Observatory's audio immersion are highlights. DPLMT and MINDS will collaborate on a bright graffiti wall painting with intellectually disabled people and their carers. Visitors can help paint the mural during DPLMT's Urban Art Jam.
Visitors can participate in interactive works like Leo Liu's Cloud Lantern, which symbolises collective ambitions at night. After partnering with Mountbatten, Cultivate Central and Green Action for Communities will exchange environmental knowledge at Goodman Community Farm.
In a unique addition, Body Fit Training (BFT) will integrate fitness activities into the Open House, extending gym hours and offering drop-in sessions to promote a sense of community among visitors. Read more...
