Singapore’s popular Argentinian steakhouse has reopened along Club Street, after five faithful years of dishing out unique steaks and delicious dishes to diners on Amoy Street. The new location features a revamped look with an open kitchen spanning the length of the restaurant. What does remain the same – is Bochinche’s charcoal grilling method, which gives the steaks here a lightly charred curst and a delightfully smoky aroma. While the menu is rooted in Argentinian-style steaks, head chef Fabrice Mergalet has incorporated contemporary and novel techniques like sous vide and lacto fermentation in his new dishes. Featuring a well curated line-up with a la carte and set lunch menus, they promise to ‘meat you there’ in style, servings and quality. There’s also impeccable service to boot, so diners with meaty hunger pangs – here’s where you ought to go!
End the night with a gooey Dulce de leche crème brulèe, sure to hit the spots of those with a sweet tooth!
Just like Singapore, Argentina is a mixed bag of different cultures, and daily life is inextricably woven with a love for food.
Bochinche celebrates that great passion for food and the social custom of gathering to dine, at the same time dispelling the notion that Argentinean cuisine is only about meat.

Top notch was the service. Attentive and always with a smile. Service staff were polite and never judgemental towards the patrons. I felt at ease. Comfortable.
A basket for your belongings placed next to your table, so that you enjoy your seat and not worrying about your purses getting soiled on the ground. Decor was somewhat traditional, true to its Argentinean roots.
I sat at a table where I had a good view of the countertop overlooking the open style kitchen. Could see the chefs passionately working on their masterpieces, treating each dish as if they were meant for kings, under the supervision of the master chef. True enough, my 3-course set lunch was superb.
For starters, I had foie gras with duck and pear compote. The combination was perfect. Posting pictures will only do injustice to the blast of taste I experienced. You will have to come try it yourselves. Foie gras is strong on its own, but tempered with duck shreds making its taste flavourful without being too much. And mix with the sweetness of the compote, it left a wonderful lingering taste not to be forgotten.
The main was thin slabs of meat made to my order, grilled to perfection and accompanied by aioli. Again, the combination of flavour is rich and just nice for my appetite.
I ordered the chocolate crème bulée with peanut butter ice cream. Sealed The deal. The crusty top of the chocolate mousse brings about satisfying closure to a meal that costs 32++ (per set).
And as a member of Alliance Francaise, we got a complimentary pair of glasses of sparkling white wine. Sweet. Reminds me of the Muscato grape wines.
So if you would like to bring a date, this is the place. It's at Amoy Street. Observe the opening times. Ng Chek Hock recommends Bochinche on facebook
The service and food is just amazing. The beef reminds me of Florentine beef I had back in Florence. And the bar tender Benny I think his name is makes lovely cocktails. It's a must place to go for good food, ambience and service. Can't fault this place!! Esther Chia reviewed Bochinche – 5 star on Facebook

"It’s an Argentine Malbec, but not as you know it...This wine is made from organically grown Malbec grapes in Mendoza, and it is made with a sort of lasagne approach of one-third destemmed grapes, one-third whole bunch and then one-third destemmed grapes in a 120 hectolitre cement vat. The wine was bottled without fining or filtration, and just a very small amount of sulfur dioxide was used." - Wineorak.com
