Innovative Italian food at Ormeggio at The Spit Sydney

Published - 29 January 2023, Sunday

Buzzy Italian seafood restaurant with a sustainable and delicious meat-free menu, beautiful cocktail and gelato bar centre stage.

Alessandro and Victor and team have completely reinvented themselves for this 11th year of operation.

There has been a major interior design change to a casual yet refined, neutral and natural colour scheme, with pops of colour and texture.

You can expect high quality sustainable seafood, great cocktails, some very fun desserts and those same knockout water views.

Ormeggio 2.0’s menu is completely meat-free, a la carte seafood menu, complemented with a regularly changing ‘chefs picks’ sharing menu, and very group friendly.

There are some very unique and delicious specialties such as an incredible Pavoni risotto, tuna ‘cotoletta’, crudo crostini, and don’t forget the ‘coppa gelato’.

Italy’s answer to the ice cream sundae, but executed centre-stage at the bar with some of the most delicious homemade gelato you’ll ever taste. Buon appetito.

You’ll feel like a real VIP when you arrive at Ormeggio. It’s hidden among yachts, in the marina just near the Spit Bridge in Middle Harbour.

Head chef Gianmarco Pardini oversees a nuanced menu. Seafood shines here, like Moreton Bay bugs, Queensland red scarlet prawns and Sydney rock oysters done creatively.

Executive Chef Alessandro Pavoni has designed wedding and private functions menus that are true to the ‘Ormeggio Experience’.

Guests can choose from a modern or traditional Italian menu or a cocktail style menu. All menus are accompanied by a choice of premium beverage packages. Video credit: Sydney Restaurants  Image Credit: Ormeggio Facebook Page
