Autobar, a dynamic new addition to Singapore’s Central Business District, has officially opened at Republic Plaza, offering a seamless fusion of world-class craft beers and elevated Asian cuisine. Conceptualized by craft beer aficionado Lee Chee Li and helmed by Michelin-trained Chef Ng John, Autobar introduces an innovative drinking and dining experience where heritage flavours are reimagined through a contemporary lens.

Situated at 9 Raffles Place, the 120-seat taproom draws inspiration from Melbourne’s vibrant dining culture, creating an inviting space that transitions effortlessly from corporate lunches to lively evening gatherings. Lee Chee Li, who has spent over a decade in the craft beer scene, envisioned a place where exceptional brews could be enjoyed alongside thoughtfully curated dishes. “Autobar represents our passion for craft beer and our appreciation for Asian culinary traditions,” he shares.

The beverage menu showcases an expertly curated selection of craft beers sourced from renowned brewing regions worldwide. Among the highlights is the Autobar Craft Lager (4.5% ABV), a crisp, refreshing brew with balanced malty and dry notes. Another standout is the Myth Monkey’s Blue Galaxy Hard Seltzer (4% ABV), a visually striking blue-hued drink infused with peach, lychee, and blue spirulina. For cocktail lovers, the Peach Basil Smash offers a refreshing twist on the classic Gin Basil Smash, combining Hendrick’s Gin with peach, basil, cucumber, and lemon, served straight from the tap for a vibrant, invigorating sip.

In the kitchen, Chef Ng John infuses his Peranakan heritage into every dish, drawing inspiration from cherished family recipes while employing modern techniques. His culinary vision is exemplified in the Heritage Set Lunch, featuring delicacies such as Kueh Pie Tee—crispy golden shells filled with succulent prawns and vegetables. Diners can elevate their meal with the signature Beef Cheek Rendang, where slow-braised, tender beef is infused with the deep, aromatic richness of coconut curry.

Autobar Signature Dishes

The dinner menu expands on these flavours with hearty, shareable dishes such as Kor Moo Yang, featuring juicy Iberico pork neck complemented by a bold som tum, and the 10-hour braised Beef Cheek Rendang, which melts effortlessly at the touch of a fork. Chef John’s Nonya Chap Chye, an homage to his great-grandmother’s recipe, brings ultimate comfort with braised vegetables and cured pork belly in a fragrant sauce that encapsulates the warmth of traditional home cooking.

Autobar Interior

Autobar’s space is designed to reflect the duality of its concept—sophisticated enough for professional gatherings yet warm and inviting for social occasions. With a sleek yet welcoming ambiance, the venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating, accommodating 60 guests in each setting. Attentive staff guide patrons through the carefully curated craft beer and food menu, ensuring an immersive experience that celebrates the artistry of both brewing and Asian culinary traditions.
