Citadelle Gin, known for its exceptional French workmanship, proudly presents its latest innovation in Singapore: Citadelle Rouge. This new addition to the permanent line illustrates the French tradition of distilling seasonal fruits by combining Citadelle Original Gin with rhubarb, cranberry, blueberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant to produce a bright red fruit flavour.

Despite its name, Citadelle Rouge has a clear appearance and natural sweetness produced entirely from fruit ingredients, with no added sugars. The infusion and distillation processes extract the essence of these fruits, yielding a clear spirit with a unique, refreshing flavour.

Citadelle Rouge enhances its predecessor's dry gin flavour with a blast of tart berries and the tang of rhubarb. This fruit-forward essence delivers a powerful yet natural taste that is beautifully clear in the glass. Citadelle Gin's originator, Alexandre Gabriel, was inspired by his wife's berry and rhubarb jam, which reminded him of his grandmother's preserves from childhood. This nostalgic impact inspired Gabriel to use ancient French fruit distillation processes to capture the freshness and authenticity of fresh fruits.

If you’re searching for a drink that introduces your taste buds to a new, delightful journey, look no further than the Citadelle Gin Rouge. Let's dive into what makes the Citadelle Gin Rouge and its signature drink, the Clover Club, a must-try.

Despite its name, Citadelle Rouge is not a red gin. This French artisanal creation translates "rouge" from French to English as "red," yet it remains a clear spirit. What sets it apart is its vibrant infusion of natural fruits: cranberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, and rhubarb. The gin is meticulously distilled to capture these fruits' essence without adding sugar, ensuring a pure, fruit-forward taste that's neither sweet nor artificial.

The infusion process used by Citadelle Rouge is a masterclass in itself, a unique and intriguing method that sets it apart from other gins. The natural fruit flavours are extracted into vapours, transforming into a transparent spirit bursting with flavour. The first sip of Citadelle Rouge welcomes an intense burst of berries. It's a drink that’s just fine without any mixers.

Citadelle Gin Rouge is for more than just sipping neat. The gin's versatile flavour profile makes it perfect for various cocktails. Among the many cocktails available at Atlas Bar, where the media launch of Citadelle Gin Rouge was held, the Clover Club stands out. This drink is made with Citadelle Gin Rouge and amplifies the gin’s vibrant berry notes. There’s a definite burst of berry freshness from the first sip, followed by the subtle complexity of the gin’s botanicals. It’s a classic cocktail reimagined with a French twist. It could become one of my favourites.

Citadelle Gin Rouge is making waves across Singapore. Apart from Atlas Bar, you can find it at several notable bars, including CU Bar, Mandala Club, SO France, Alley Bar, Set of Six, and Potato Head Singapore. Each venue offers a unique ambience, making it the perfect spot to enjoy this delightful gin. Citadelle Gin Rouge promises a journey of nostalgic and refreshing flavours. At Atlas Bar, this unique gin and its sophisticated setting combine to make for an unforgettable evening. Thank you, Grazia, Brandon and Erin, and the Accela team for a wonderful afternoon.
