Built in 1942, Indian Muslim Bakery & Confectionery is the oldest surviving muslim bakery in Singapore. it was first named Indian Bakery - founded by Mr Shaik Jan Bux and the business was taken over by his son - Mr Mahmood Hussain in 1977. The bakery was later changed from Indian Bakery to Indian Muslim Bakery and to what is known now as Indian Muslim Bakery and Confectionery Pte Ltd.
