A unique fusion of authentic Italian cuisine and barbeque, BBQ Under the Stars is the 5th concept launched by Chef Marcus Edwin of the RUBATO group, a well-known veteran of Italian cuisine.
BBQ Under the Stars is the ideal hideout for those who wish to take a break from the busy city life and eat to their hearts’ content. Located just a 5 minutes walk from Sixth Avenue MRT Station, the restaurant is nestled amidst nature, creating a serene ambience for a cozy and relaxing meal. As the night deepens, a charcoal flame is set ablaze and diners can watch as their a-la-minute choice cuts are grilled to perfection by the chefs.
Starting from just $41.80++, diners can look forward to a value-for-money barbeque buffet featuring:
One-of-a-kind Arrosticini Abruzzesi (Giant Italian Skewers)
Free-flow Tuscan steak
Premium Italian dishes - Porcini mushroom risotto, baked lasagne, traditional beef bolognese, hand-stretched pizzas, and more
Luxurious seafood - Fresh oysters, grilled prawns, thick-cut salmon, fresh mussels and clams
Unbelievable add-ons - Seabass, Lobster, and Wagyu from $9
Led by Chef Marcus Edwin
The man who came up with this new Italian barbeque concept is none other than Chef Marcus who has over a decade of experience in the culinary scene. He founded the RUBATO group in 2009, leveraging his experience working as a sous-chef in an Italian restaurant abroad. Fast forward to today, RUBATO is widely known as the go-to Italian restaurant for the dining elite in Singapore and the region, with Chef Marcus building up his repertoire of serving cabinet ministers, international celebrities, and industry titans over the years. He continues to travel to Italy frequently to learn about their food and brings the accumulated knowledge and inspiration back to Singapore.
The Parrilla Grill
The restaurant uses a traditional Argentinian grill, known as a Parrilla Grill, and the entire cooking process is fully fueled by charcoal to achieve a unique smoky flavour for the grilled meats. Usually only seen in hotel kitchens or fine dining restaurants in Singapore due to its high cost of $100,000 to import from Argentina, its appearance at BBQ Under the Stars showcases the restaurant’s commitment to providing diners with the best dining experience.
Most Value-for-money Lobster, Seabass and Wagyu
In addition to the buffet, diners can order a whole Seabass at $14.80, half a Lobster at only $9, and premium cut Wagyu for JUST $9.98. These luxurious food items are carefully marinated and charcoal grilled by skilled chefs, BUT served to diners at almost cost price. On top of that, Fresh Air-flown Oysters and Fresh Japanese Scallops are also available at $1.89 and $2.98 per piece respectively. Safe to say, it will definitely be a worthwhile visit for those who wish to savour any of these mouth-watering dishes without having to break the bank.
The Buffet Menu
A rare find in Singapore, BBQ Under The Stars would be bringing Arrosticini Abruzzesi (Giant Italian Skewers) to the table, an iconic specialty from the Abruzzo region that will impress with its distinct flavour profile. One can also expect an extensive selection of barbeque options including Grain-fed Tuscan Steak, Grilled Prawns, Chicken Chop, King Oyster Mushrooms, Chicken Mid Wings, and more.
Guided by the culinary expertise of Chef Marcus, the restaurant flawlessly combines the authentic flavours of Italian cuisine with the aromatic essence of barbeque and further elevates the pairing with a fully charcoal-fuelled parilla grill.
Not to forget exquisite Italian dishes such as Porcini Mushroom Risotto, Baked Lasagne, Carbonara pasta, and various types of hand-stretched pizzas on the buffet menu, whose quality are on par with the renowned standard of RUBATO.
Barbeque Without the Heat
The restaurant also has a beautiful indoor seating area that can easily fit 200 guests for the ladies and gentlemen who prefer to have their barbeque meal in the comfort of an air-conditioned space. The interior is a captivating blend of elegance and rustic charm, with a unique vaulted ceiling adorned with stylish wooden beams.
The warm and soothing ambience is further enhanced by the presence of carefully curated wooden furniture and the open bar concept adds a touch of excitement, allowing diners to interact with the friendly bartenders or simply appreciate the artistry of cocktail crafting.
With its huge seating capacity, BBQ Under the Stars is a great choice for not only small groups but also those who are looking to host parties or events. Both the indoor and outdoor seating can be booked and a request can even be made for live DJ performances in the restaurant. Get ready for a truly unforgettable night, filled with fun, laughter, and an array of delectable food and alcohol.
