The dawn of December marks the soon arrival of Christmas and Ristorante Pietrasanta is celebrating with a one-night-only wine-pairing dinner of the best Italian flavours.
On 9 December 2022, five courses of classic Italian dishes are carefully paired with the best Italian vino for a celebration of Italian festivity. The menu features prime ingredients at the peak of the season, including tuna, artichoke, lobster, cod and more, capped off with the quintessential Italian Christmas dessert of a classic panettone.
Thoughtfully paired dishes with a curated selection of Italian wines will have you exclaiming, “buono, delizioso!”
Get in the Christmas spirit with a starter of Tonno Alla Oiastra, pan-seared Chutoro tuna fragranced with caramelised onions and enriched with a cream of cannellini beans. It is paired with a Franciacorta Rosé Contadi, a sparkling wine blooming with notes of berries and cream before tailing off with distinct layers of wild berries and fresh rose petals.
Warm up next with Zuppa di Carciofi e Calamari, a rich artichoke soup simmered to immense sweetness with additions of springy calamari. Bringing out the flavours of artichoke and calamari is Vermentino di Toscana Alba, a white wine with intense aromatic notes of citrus with soft green reflections.
A spaghettoni pasta dish tempts with Spaghettoni al Sugo di Aragostadoused in a rich lobster sauce that’s sure to satisfy. Matched with it is a deep bold Valpolicella Superiore TB red that hits all the right spots with scents of dark spices and smoky hints of fruity plum and black cherry.
The main course then comes in two options–The Guazzetto di Pesceis a hearty tomato stew of black cod, baby octopus, and clams while the Secreto alla Griglia serves up a grilled pork secreto with sauteed kale and wild mushrooms. Either one will pair with Amarone Classico della Valpolicella, the perfect red wine for special occasions that will provide bold game and strong flavours with its ethereal bouquet of dried fruit.
End your meal with a taste of tradition with Ristorante Pietrasanta’s Classic Panettone. The classic Italian sweet bread will be served with a Fiordilatte gelato and blueberry sauce for a true festive taste and paired with sweet Moscato wine for the perfect sweet finish.
The Christmas menu is priced at $148 per pax and is available for one night only on 9 December 2022. Dinner seating starts at 6.30pm and commences at 7pm.
