  • Casa Pietrasanta Invites All for a New Affordable Italian Private Dining Concept

Ristorante Pietrasanta, everyone’s favourite Italian restaurant, now goes private with Casa Pietrasanta, its new private dining concept opening its doors at One North. Expect the same refined flavours made famous by Chef-Owner Loris Massimini, now curated for smaller, more intimate celebrations.

Birthed from Chef Loris’s passion for cooking and hosting friends, Casa Pietrasanta (which translates to mean home) brings the culinary prowess of chefs cooking up authentic Italian cuisine with Mediterranean touches. The dishes are all odes to the different generations of Italian men and women who enjoy cooking together as a way to bring family and loved ones around the table at the end of a long day.

In an intimate 20-seater restaurant fed with unobstructed views of an open kitchen, dig in an exquisite 3- or 4-course degustation menu alongside a range of historic wines from Italy.

Get enticed by house signatures like the Carpaccio di Branzino seabass carpaccio brightened with lemon zest and fragranced with pink peppercorn and horseradish as well as Stracciatella di Burrata, accompanied by parma ham and semi-dry tomatoes, Tagliatelle Portobello of fresh handmade tagliatelle doused in an earthy portobello sauce and laced with pesto and truffle, and Pesce di Neve Scottato, a tender seared snow fish served with green pea puree and lump fish roe.

Miss not Casa’s famed Gelatina di Prosecco e Granita where the prosecco jelly granita cools the heat off you and preps you for the sweet finish of Sbriciolata di Mele, a melt-in-your-mouth apple crumble tart with a scoop of homemade vanilla crema.

Founders Giuseppe and Loris Massimini and Niccolò Bertolini found themselves deeply enthralled by art loving Pietrasanta, the historic capital of Versilia snuggled between the Tirreno Sea and the breathtaking Apuan Alps.

Enchanted, the trio brought along the charms of this medieval city on the coast of northern Tuscany to Singapore, finding Ristorante Pietrasanta in a black and white house along Portsdown Road in 2008.

A decade later after amassing a fan base of loyal diners with its repertoire of winning favourites, Ristorante Pietrasanta continues a new chapter at One North.

Casa Pietrasanta the hidden curated yet affordable private dining Italian - Mediterranean restaurant

We visited Casa Pietrasanta by the fabulous people behind the established and popular dining spot Ristorante Pietrasanta. The cuisine is full of Italian -Mediterranean flavours. Despite the cheese usually found in Italian meals this menu boasts refreshing light items as well as contains all-round options. Making it a crowd pleaser where you could go with a group that has various lifestyle and dietary preferences.

Casa Pietrasanta is cozy. It can house up to twenty diners in one seating. Which makes it an ideal spot for an intimate gathering. The open kitchen and the very attentive staff make it an ideal venue as a private dining establishment. However, fear not it is open to the public to enjoy! They offer degustation menus for lunch and dinner. These start at about $49.90 to about $74.90. Excellent value making it a truly affordable fine dining experience. Casa Pietrasanta is hidden in plain sight on level 2 of 1 Fusionopolis Way at One North.

We decided on treating our taste buds with the 3-course menu, see picture of the menu attached here for ease. The menu includes one appetiser of your choice, one main of your choice and one dessert of your choice. They served us a round of scrumptious arancini balls and a bread board for the table, in addition to the 3-course menu. The house pour wines were well rated and moderately priced, a match made in heaven indeed! These ranged from wines starting at $14.90 a glass and upwards.

After spending about eternity on choosing what we would eat. Here is what we decided on – one of us choose the seabass carpaccio for their entrée, the risotto escargot (additional $8) as the main and Sharon’s granita as the dessert. Another at our table tried the Guancialo di Manzo (additional $10) it is the slow cooked beef cheek, as their main. I was feeling like eating vegetables. So, I tried the Tortino della Lunigiana, which is a zucchini and red onion frittata as my entrée. My main was the Fettuccine “La Bussola” which is fettuccine with portobello mushroom sauce, pesto sauce and truffle. For dessert I went with Gianduiotto al For Di Latte which is chocolate with amarena cherries.

It was a leisurely meal. We enjoyed the organic Chianti with our meal. It was flavourful and left no headaches.

Now, our favourites from the entrée were the seabass carpaccio. It was flavourful and zesty with pink peppercorn coming through. In the mains our favourite main of the ones eaten at our table were the Risotto Escargot, followed by the beef cheek which had better portion size than the risotto, followed by the light roasted snow fish and fettuccine. But overall, each main was particularly good. The comparison is out of us being curious about each other’s meals. In the desserts we unanimously loved the Milk chocolate gianduiotto and highly recommend it to you.

I would love to come back here for a private dining experience. It is most definitely an affordable fine dining experience.

How you have my taste buds tingling I must return for the new menu and enjoy this cuisine once again. The last visit was pre covid so a visit is well overdue - thank you for a great write up - inspiring
