Direct from the London Coliseum, The United Ukrainian Ballet will arrive in Singapore to stage the world’s most loved ballet, Swan Lake Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 October, 2022. Originating from the first immortal bars of Tchaikovsky’s score, Swan Lake transports the audience to another world with this classic tale of good triumphing over evil.

The United Ukrainian Ballet brings together award-winning dancers from Ukraine’s finest ballet houses, including The National Opera of Ukraine, Kharkiv Opera Theatre, Odesa Ballet Theatre and Lviv Ballet Theatre.

Each member of the Company tells their own heart-warming story of how they had escaped the devastating war in their homeland to star in this awe-inspiring production.

Featuring Prince Siegfried’s love for the Swan Queen Odette, the unforgettable corps de ballet moving in magical unison, glimmering swans and spectacular ballroom scenes, this glorious tale is sure to fill the soul with reverence and wonder.

Witness a powerful and moving interpretation of one of the greatest romantic ballets of all time, led under the artistic direction of former prima ballerina of the Dutch National Ballet, Igone de Jonge.

Performed by world-class artists united by the tragedy of war and their hope for the future, this majestic production of Swan Lake is set to be the most emotional dance performance of the year.

The company, which has the Dutch Centre for Ukrainian Dancers as its home base, consists of 60 refugee Ukrainian soloists, ensembles, creatives and technicians, who will disseminate Ukrainian culture worldwide through performance and storytelling.

In its artistic programming, the company profiles itself specifically as a Ukrainian company: in its interpretation, it searches simultaneously for the tradition and quality of the dancers as well as for the urgency and theme of the war and ideological violence Ukraine is facing.

If you're not in Singapore for this important ballet performance, maybe you catch it in Australia - Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide, sometime between 21 October and 12 November, 2022
