Picture this: It's another beautiful day in Singapore. You've spent the day exploring the city and are now ready for a relaxing evening. Departing from the elegant Oneº15 Marina Sentosa, what better way to unwind than a leisurely cruise to the southern islands off the Singapore coast on the Waga Mari's "Sea Spirits" Sunset Cocktail Cruise? Ok, I know what you could be thinking, “...a yacht cruise? Really?” It's an experience you don't want to miss.

First things first, let's talk about the yacht itself. The Waga Mari is a 45-foot luxury catamaran. Helmed by Captain Martijn Piket, she's got a sleek, stylish design that embodies sophistication and luxury. From the moment I stepped on board, I felt  I had entered another world. It was peaceful and relaxing, a welcome break from the usual city hustle. There's plenty of space on board to stretch out and take in the sights or to find a quiet corner for a more chill experience. The crew members are friendly and attentive, ready to enhance your journey with their excellent service.

Indulge in an array of free-flow of artisanal cocktails and international cuisine, all part of your Sea Spirits Sunset Cocktail Cruise package. And what’s an evening cruise without live entertainment? Your soundtrack for the evening is provided by the gifted local musician, Yuresh, who will strum your favourite tunes on his guitar, adding a delightful touch to the cruising ambience.

So, let’s talk about the drinks. The cocktail menu was amazing! The cruise’s exquisite cocktails feature a selection of distinguished spirits and liqueurs imported by Distilled LLP. Distilled is a champion of artisanal alcohol brands focusing on the Singapore market. It was great to have Distilled’s MD, Stefanie Goh, onboard to give me the inside scoop on the cocktails. Each cocktail carries its unique palate and international origin story, from Amaro Montenegro to make the Montegroni and Select Aperitivo Select Apritz to Ron Colón Salvadoreño Dark Aged Rum which is the base for the Ron Punch. Non-alcoholic options like the refreshing 'Groovy' are available too, ensuring that all guests are catered to. The drinks were flavourful and refreshing, and they were seriously delicious cocktails, perfect for the occasion!

Now, let me tell you about my favourite part, the food. What you are served on the Waga Mari is different from your average, run-of-the-mill booze-cruise food. They had some fabulous dishes on the menu, like Tandoori Chicken with just the right amount of smoky flavour, Crispy Fish Bites cooked to perfection, and Spicy Cajun Chicken that was finger-licking good. They also served this local dish, Ngoh Hiang, like a spring roll filled with bamboo shoots, ground pork, minced shrimp, garlic, and onions. So tasty!

They have other catering options for charters that can be arranged if you charter the whole yacht. The Signature BBQ option starts from just $50 per person. Picture this: juicy burgers, tender ribs, perfectly grilled steaks, and a variety of sausages, all cooked to perfection on a BBQ. Yes, it's as good as it sounds! And if you're into buffets, they offer three different types, including a specially-curated halal buffet. So, no matter your preference or dietary needs, they have something for everyone. Just so you know, you can BYO beverages, and there is no corkage charge. The same goes for food, so you can take your picnic basket of goodies or meats to BBQ. If you need to use the BBQ, there is a charge. By the way, bottled drinking water is provided free of charge.

Undoubtedly, the sunset is the true star of the show on the "Sea Spirits" Sunset Cocktail Cruise. As the yacht sails gracefully across the tranquil waters and heads to the southern islands of St. Johns and Lazarus, you're treated to a breath-taking view of Singapore's stunning skyline bathed in the golden hues of the setting sun. A special kind of magic comes with watching the day turn into night from the deck of a yacht. As the city lights twinkle like distant stars and you are anchored in a beautifully scenic sheltered bay, you can't help but feel a sense of peace and contentment. It's a moment of serene beauty made better by the gentle rocking of the boat and the soft sea breeze, creating a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. I took so many pictures, but honestly, none of them do it justice. It's just something you have to see for yourself.

So, if you're looking for an unforgettable experience in Singapore, a chance to unwind, enjoy some delicious food and drinks, and enjoy the beautiful sights, then get on a cruise aboard the Waga Mari. This is a unique way to appreciate and experience what Singapore has to offer and is an absolute must-do. Sit back, relax, and let the Waga Mari carry you away on a journey of discovery and delight. An introductory offer of $188 per guest for the early birds is valid until June 30, 2023. From July 1, 2023, tickets are priced at $228 per guest. It's an irresistible offer, enticing individuals and small groups of adventurers aged 18 and above.

Trust me, once you've sailed into the sunset on the Waga Mari, you'll be counting down the days until you can do it again.
