On 26 September 2021, Zafferano celebrates the wines of Tuscany with an exquisite wine pairing dinner. For one night only, relish fine wines complemented with five courses of contemporary Italian fare by Head Chef Andrea De Paola and his team.
The evening commences on a refreshing note with a selection of canapés and Le Pupille Poggio Argentato 2019. It follows with an indulgent starter of Hokkaido scallops with chickpeas velouté and rosemary essence. Savour the appetiser with Buccia Nera Pa’Ro Bianco 2017, a beautifully balanced orange wine with herbaceous scents and notes of yellow peach.
Next on the menu is Buccia Nera Pa’Ro Rosso 2017, which features a clean nose of dark berries and plum, with a gorgeous velvet tannin finish. Accompanying it is a flavoursome house-made truffle pecorino ravioli with fresh porcini. The main course showcases the highlight of the night, an elegant Vignamaggio Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2016 made with only Sangiovese grapes. A perfect match for its intense wild berry notes is a rich and succulent roasted venison loin with Chianti sauce.
The evening ends on a sweet note with an almond variation with chocolate and orange. Paired together with the nutty dessert is the Buccia Nera Vin Santo 2017, brimming with the aromatics of candied fruit, caramel and butterscotch.
