Nutritious food, good emotional & gut health are integral to our wellbeing. Sourdough bread compliments all of these. Sourdough breads have gut friendly microbes that ease digestion while also optimizing nutrient absorption.

Kavita founded My Organic Spoon in 2019 because of her passion for both Nutrition and the Culinary arts. Her aim is not just to share her knowledge in cooking & Sourdough baking, but also to create awareness about how different ingredients and preparation methods can work together to support better health.

A pioneer in Gluten free Sourdough in Singapore, Kavita’s own health requirements acted as an impetus in the creation of her Gluten free Sourdough recipes. She soon realized that there was a huge lack of awareness about healthy Gluten free food, especially breads.

My Organic Spoon

A majority of us go Gluten free not by choice but by prescription. However, due to lack of awareness, we consume starchy flours and unnatural ingredients (xanthan gum/guar gum etc.). Many people consume packaged Gluten free food believing it to be healthier; without realizing the ingredients that went into making it.

Cognizant of this, Kavita invests an hour discussing Gluten free flours in her class. She shares her own time tested (& tasted) recipes while explaining how each ingredient and process impacts the final outcome. She also covers practical ways of troubleshooting. Kavita encourages participants to use more wholegrains to bake delicious breads in their Sourdough baking journey.

My Organic Spoon

My Organic Spoon runs workshops not just for Gluten free Sourdough, but also for Regular Sourdough (wheat based). They have various learning modules on Artisan loaves, Focaccia, Ciabatta, Baguettes, Pizzas, 100% Whole Wheat, 100% Rye; including some extremely soft Asian breads (think Hokkaido/Kopitiam). All of these are slow fermented pure Sourdough.

All Sourdough baking courses from My Organic Spoon come with 4 weeks of post workshop – chat group based support. Post workshop support for each batch offers personal guidance to participants so that they keep improving their baking skills.

My Organic Spoon also conducts Online courses and Private workshops for select offerings. These are beneficial for overseas participants and those who are Celiac or intolerant to Gluten.  An opportunity to learn in the comfort & safety of their own Gluten free kitchen.
