Danny Minnick, born on January 23, 1973, found his love of drawing at a young age, doodling favoured cartoon characters by third grade. Minnick's artistic path took a significant turn in 2011 when his close buddy, artist, and skateboarder Chad Muska, taught him how to stretch canvases, rekindling his love to paint. He rapidly moved into painting, with his first gallery exhibition titled "17 Pieces."

His painting style is neo-expressionist, with aggressive brushstrokes, distinctive drips, cartoon imagery, and daring colour use, influenced by painters such as De Kooning, Pollock, Keith Haring, and Basquiat. Minnick's large-scale canvases frequently include a recurrent figure known as "Character," a human skeleton with a plus symbol in the torso, symbolising the positive energy he wishes to transmit throughout the world.

Minnick's art has been shown abroad and can be found on the walls of prestigious sites such as Miami's Wynwood and London's Barbican Underground Station. Notably, he responded to Banksy's homage to Jean Michel Basquiat with his painting "Character," in which he placed a crown on Banksy's Basquiat figure, a piece that has been permanently archived by The Barbican Centre.

His artistic abilities have won him a list of renowned collectors that includes Robert Downey Jr., LeBron James, Jessica Alba, and others. Forbes recognised a "childlike sense of wonder and curiosity" in Minnick's work.

Minnick, in addition to his painting career, has dabbled with directing and cinematography, creating documentaries and videos that frequently use his fellow skateboarders as subjects. Following lengthy acting instruction, his passion to the trade led him to become a Lifetime Member of The Actors Studio.

Danny Minnick's artistic transformation from skateboarder to neo-expressionist painter is a monument to his imagination and hard work. His paintings, with their bright and expressive manner, have received international acclaim and have been included in important collections.

Minnick is excited to return to Asia in December 2023 to work with Art Works, a Singapore-based art gallery and boutique advising group committed to delivering education, transparency, and market insight to assist collectors, investors, and enthusiasts in navigating the complex world of fine art. on his return trip to Asia in early December 2023.
