Whether it's the great Singapore Sale or not, the island’s buzzing shopping season flows all year around with a gratifying 365-day cycle. And why not? When it comes to shopping, you’re in for a treat — and Singapore’s got all the sweet spots covered for your fix of retail therapy. One is happily spoilt for choice with plentiful options of shops, stores, warehouses and shopping malls in town.

Founded in 2010, Supermama is a homegrown design-led lifestyle goods brand, which seeks to provide museum-like respite to the busyness of urban life. This minimalist husband-and-wife co-owned souvenir shop has evolved into the island’s go-to source for locally designed homeware and souvenirs.

Every piece here is produced by some of the finest craftsmen in Asia, whilst exhibiting a distinctly Singaporean design approach — think asymmetrical bowls, dimpled cups, and painstakingly hand-painted plates inspired by the country’s modernised culture. This is the perfect place to pick up thoughtful, and original gifts for someone special (or yourself). In 2013, their signature cobalt blue and white porcelain collection titled “Singapore Icons” was awarded the President’s Design Award — the leading design accolade in Singapore. Supermama is a little gallery shop based in Singapore. At Supermama, they collect and create meaningful objects, and hope to engage every consumer as an individual, curating a space to allow each to slow down. They work closely with some of the best Singapore designers and Japanese crafts facilities to produce meaningful local souvenirs. With direct partnerships with multi-generational Japanese crafts facilities (in metal smithing, porcelain making, woodcrafting, glass blowing etc.), they seek to present some of the finest collections of products to their audience.
