Dr Marco made his mark as a successful trendsetter in Endoscopic Plastic Surgery with his noteworthy work in Abdominoplasty, as well as Breast Reduction and Lifting. His pioneering work, especially in Endoscopy Abdominoplasty launched him as a sensational figure worldwide – benefitting Dr Marco with a tremendous scope of exposure and many prominent awards in the medical field.

Beyond being an illustrious and international board-certified Plastic Surgeon – Dr Marco additionally holds numerous memberships from various international societies of plastic surgery such as ISAPS, IPRAS, ASPS, OSAPS, SAPS (Singapore Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery Society), SBCP (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery) and SBMR (Brazilian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery). He is moreover a member of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society, and a member of RAMSES (The Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society).

Dr Marco graduated in 1978 from Rio Grande do Sul University in Brazil, post which he acquired his Plastic Surgery Specialisation certification in 1984. By 1989 he obtained his post-graduation specialisation in Microsurgery & Hand Surgery from Japan. Having capped in credentials for his professional foundation, Dr Marco did not hesitate to begin putting his growing knowledge, passion, and skills to the test.
Between 1989 to 1994, Dr Marco was the A/Prof. of the Plastic Surgery & Microsurgery Department in the Catholic University Hospital in Porto Alegre, Brazil. His ground-breaking research and developmental efforts over the period of these first five years contributed massive paybacks in catapulting Dr Marco onto a global platform.
In 1991, Dr Marco kickstarted his research project in acclimatising endoscopic methods to Plastic Surgery. He delivered his first case in Endoscopic Abdominoplasty and Breast Lifting in 1992. Having specially designed a set of innovative instruments for adapting endoscopic methods to change-up the procedure – earned him an international patent and the opportunity to present his work to the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery. Dr Marco went on to publish his work in Endoscopic Plastic Surgery and Body Contouring in the Brazilian Journal of Plastic Surgery.
His skills are not only limited to endoscopic surgery – Brow Lift, Breast Lift & Abdominoplasty. He is equally famed for his facial rejuvenation procedures such as Face Lift, Neck Lift, Rhinoplasty, and Chin Augmentation – especially the 3-Dimensional Face Lift.
For body contouring surgery, Dr Marco is also well recognised for his Breast Reduction & Lifting Mastopexy, Breast Enhancement using implants & fat grafting, Body Liposuction, Standing Liposculpture, Abdominoplasty and the famous Brazilian Butt Lift – are often requested by his loyal clientele.
In 2013, Dr Marco’s interest in Robotic Surgery motivated gradual advancement towards becoming a certified Robotic Surgeon. By 2015, Dr Marco performed his first official case of Robotic Abdominoplasty (Robotic Tummy Tuck) in Singapore.
The case was officially published in the Springer: New Concepts on Abdominoplasty & Further Applications – which highlights Dr Marco’s paper on ‘Robotic Procedure for Plication of the Muscle Aponeurotic Abdominal Wall’ in 2016. With this achievement, Dr Marco also received an award by 6 different societies for bringing endoscopy plastic surgery to the next level in robotic surgery.
