The year has almost come to a close, not everyone will be where they intended to be today, some in self-isolations, others stuck in a city they usually would have been able to leave to travel home to family and friends.
To these readers, you are not alone, it is OK to not feel OK. My heartfelt advise is to be present, acknowledge the situation and try to dig deep to find a sense of acceptance.
For those feeling anxious, reach out to a friends - anyone you can call - and tell them how you are feeling - get it off your chest - it is better to talk openly about feeling you are experiencing right this minute.
For those venturing out to gathering, of course take your mask and please avoid unnecessary contact - not everybody is accepting kisses on two cheeks at the moment. We are all living in hope of a year ahead full of new opportunity as we slowly transform the way we live both locally, and across the globe.
2020 and 2021 have been a challenge for many of us - to say the least - while suffering alienation from loved one, disruptive changes in the workplace, lost employment, moving continents, missing milestones - yet we had a glimpse from time to time.
Now we are in for the long haul ahead. Uncertainty is debilitating. Let's all find a way to be grateful for what we have been gifted in life and never be ashamed to receive.
The kindness of others is a pure gift from their heart - gifting unconditionally. When you receive love, support or a token of appreciation from another - be grateful and acknowledge the graciousness of their effort. Be safe, be present, be mindful, find harmony this Christmas Day and beyond into 2022.
On behalf of all the team involved in keeping the expat choice community in your city alive and vibrant from day to day, we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Delicious New Year.
We look forward to continuing our awesome and sometime extraordinary reporting for you or readers on experiences in your city on How to Live, Connect and Indulge locally.
Blessings to all, please stay safe
