As part of Amara Hotels & Resorts' comprehensive refurbishment of its two Singapore properties, Amara Sanctuary Sentosa's refurbished interiors usher in a new era of tranquilly on Sentosa Island. This revitalization project, spearheaded by the renowned cross-disciplinary design studio FARM, beautifully combines contemporary aesthetics with biophilic features. The renovation, inspired by Sentosa Island's maritime past and the estate's century-long legacy, emphasises the use of natural materials such as local stone, venerable lumber, and recovered wood from traditional fishing vessels.

The redesigned spaces at Amara Sanctuary Sentosa incorporate rich plant life, transforming formerly underutilised places into tranquil retreats for peaceful contemplation. This precise selection of natural materials and vegetation reflects the island's lush surroundings, reinforcing a connection to nature. The magnificent foyer is the focal point of this renovation, with an ethereal skylight creating a mesmerising play of light and shadow. At its core is a majestic four-meter Pithecellobium Confertum 'Everfresh Tree' with Davallia Fejeensis shrubs, which represents nature's peaceful splendour.

The updated design concept not only remains relevant for future generations, but it also appeals to travellers seeking tranquillity in nature in a fast-paced world. The remodelled lobby encourages interaction among travellers while providing cosy places for periods of relaxation. Plans for retail potential in the lobby space aim to provide distinctive takeout products that represent the character of the Amara brand and its locations.

The transition between outdoor and inside spaces is smooth, with flowers and vegetation evoking tranquillity and respite among guests. Abundant planters enhance the surroundings, while outdoor courtyards and foyers provide nooks with daybeds, settees, hammocks or bar tables, inviting guests to bask in the sun's warmth and colonial architecture.
