I just arrived home to my apartment in East Coast of Singapore, which I love. I have always thanked my lucky stars to have found the apartment when I did, but after a weekend at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa, all I can say is why can't I live like I just did in the luxe environment I experienced on my staycation.

The Junior Suite is more than a hotel room it is a palace, a place to rest, relax and have your privacy. In a time when we have time slots for pools, spa, and restaurant dining times, I believe we need to have our own recluse in a hotel setting and this is exactly what was delivered to me this weekend. I loved the BED. It was simply like I would imagine sleeping on a cloud. The pillows - don't get me started.... so dreamy and comfortable. Most of all I had the best experience soaking my body in a huge bath. I am not one for a bath usually - probably because I have not lived in a house since I was at home with my family back in Australia when we had a bath on a daily basis as kids, but here on my staycation I simply "dived" at the chance to be reminded of the water saturating my body, providing a well earned therapeutic experience. This is a bathroom fit for a King and the shower was a room in itself.

Greeted with a complimentary bottle of Red wine, fruits and some home-cooked biscuits for snacks, I was in heaven.

I decide I wanted to have a meal at The Cliff. I was thinking how time's have changed from a price perspective. I dined at the Cliff about 4 years ago and I found it to be quite expensive for the experience. Mind you we are paying for a view. The menu is designed to accommodate both takeaway (in-room) and dine in. There is a fabulous selection of starters. I dug into the Charred sweat & spicy peppers, creamy goat cheese sauce and grilled onions & crispy shallots ($16) for lunch and on the previous evening I loved the Pane Pomodoro. Bread toasted served with smoked pork belly, creamy burrata, pickled shallots & tomato vinaigrette ($20)

I was feeling pretty peckish so I also ordered the Penne Carbonara which was simply yet delicious. Guanciale, percorino & black pepper ($22)

Wood-Fired Pizza with almost any topping you wish to request are cooked to perfection. Many pizza's seemed to be served pool side as a day time snack option. While I was sitting by the pool, the couple next to me asked if I'd like a few piece of their's as the pizza was massive.

The mains are a plenty with Western, Indian and Asian dishes available so literally something for everyone, all served with a wide selection of wines from the wine list or specialty cocktails made to order.

Surprisingly so, the menu prices are extraordinarily on the low side for a resort on Sentosa. Speaking with the manager she shared when the new menu was created, the establishment decided to bring the prices down to a standard, paying what you would pay anywhere across Singapore out side of this Luxe resort such as Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.

My slow cooked beef cheek goulash ($38) was spectacular. Braised with smoked paprika, fresh paprika & organic onions, served with salted potatoes & creme fraiche. I couldn't recommend this dish highly enough.

The Cliff is situated on the far corner of the resort property and overlooks the South China sea. A superb location for a meal, worth the grab taxi to the Island just to have a meal and to feel the flow of a resort style dinner experience, even if you are not intending to stay the night. But you will be back soon enough, as the property is oozing a welcoming vibe.

Give this staycation experience a go. I am totally up for another night or two at Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. It was awesome. Full marks to all the staff I interacted with. Your welcoming hospitality was second to none.
