Sim, head instructor at Orca Scuba is from Frankfurt Germany, where she used to work as a teacher in secondary school teaching English and Biology. After graduation from university Sim went travelling through South East Asia where she tried scuba diving for the first time. Once the first breath under water was taken and the “scuba seed” planted there was no turning back! From this moment on, Sim`s travels revolved around diving.
The Open Water Diver course was quickly followed by Advanced and Rescue Diver courses and on the same trip she decided to “go professional” and started her dive master training on the beautiful island of Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand, where she stayed to gain experience for the months that followed.
After finally returning home Sim spent the next four years mainly diving on holidays and helping out at the local dive school immersing in cold German lakes. In 2008 her passion for diving and the underwater world got the better of her and she decided to leave the four walls of her classroom behind and become a scuba diving instructor.
Since taking her first breath under water Sim´s enthusiasm for diving and teaching has not changed, in the meantime she has dived and worked in locations like Thailand, Maldives, Mexico, Indonesia, Malaysia and Germany. She has accomplished 4500 plus dives and has certified more than 1000 students of different levels, beginning with those who are taking their first breath, to those who are on their way to becoming professional divers.
It is her experience and enthusiasm that finally brought her to Orca Scuba where she has been teaching and guiding on beautiful Rawa Island throughout the past month and where you might find her either teaching theory and confined skills in the pool or guide divers in one of Orca Scuba`s multiple dive locations.
Orca Lifestyle organizes specialized dive excursions throughout the SEA region. At the same time O.S. delivers custom training and certification packages for those customers requiring tailor made programs adapted to their hectic (business) life styles. O.S. certifies divers following the PADI programs and certification levels.
