Maduro is a new listening lounge and bar devoted to preserving the virtuosity of the classics – both genres and libations alike.

It takes over the space above all-day French bistro Atout. Drinks wise, a nod to the classics – Scotland’s finest malts and rare bottlings of worldly persuasion, prized blends and varietals from old world winemakers with vintages few and far between, and classic cocktails revived with unique amari and aperitivi that each lend a distinct nuance to time-honored recipes.\

The man behind MaduroMr. P is a classically-trained pianist who self-taught his way into being one of the most sought after performing pianists in the 80’s gig circuit, before switching careers and becoming the go-to London real estate broker for the top brass, having cut deals for over a million square feet of investment property to date.

Fashioned after Mr. P’s storied music past and present, music at Maduro flows from serene classical music in the day to swinging jazz at night; with two live music nights—1819 Tuesdays and Tiara Friday Club—both cheeky nods to the venues where Mr. P used to perform, and each infused with its own groove and flavour.

TIARA FRIDAY CLUB

A weekly Friday live music night that pays homage to Tiara Supper Club, the iconic jewel of the Shangri-La in the 80’s where Mr. P perform at the peak of his career.

In the spirit of saving the best for last, each evening will see a star-studded line-up of Singapore’s top chanteuses and crooners perform alongside their first-call musician counterparts

1819 TUESDAYS

A weekly Tuesday live music night with an experimental edge, named in tribute to Restaurant 1819, the crowning continental splendour of Tuan Sing Towers that hosted one of Mr. P’s first gigs as a performing musician in the 80’s.

In the spirit of paying it forward, Mr. P dedicates Maduro’s stage—for one night a week—to showcase the next generation of musicians.

Every now and then, at the whim of Mr. P and his roledex of globetrotting musician friends, a special night is added to the roster and Maduro’s stage is set to surprise. In honour of Maduro’s opening weekend, old friend and Asian jazz veteran Alemay Fernandez takes the stage for a One Night Only special. With a sultry tone, powerhouse vocals and an undeniable onstage presence, come experience for yourself why the songstress is often regarded as “Singapore’s most loved performer”, with Chok Kerong on the baby grand.
