This is Yoga Movement's first endeavour into the bustling Novena enclave and it's sixth studio location, providing a much needed neighbourhood respite featuring a spacious practice room, two dedicated changing room stalls, and a full-service Front Desk.
This compact property will offer over 50 classes a week to the neighbourhood’s residential and working community. As part of a slew of new openings in the back end of 2021, this studio opening is part of a plan to get more of Yoga Movement’s flavour of yoga to the people with their Pod Concept and more.
“There’s been a huge shift in the way we live in the past 18 months” Alicia explains. “With the ongoing trend of work-from-home, our strategy is to bring Yoga Movement to the community, and reach an audience we may not have had access to before.”
After nearly two years of location scouting, this is an exceptionally sweet opening for the homegrown brand. “The perfect location fell into our lap, and despite being a shorter lease term and smaller footprint than our regular spacious signature fit outs, we just had to jump on it”, explains YM’s co-founder Alicia Pan.
Though initially planned as a no-frills pop-up studio, the folks behind Yoga Movement’s collection of stunning studio fit outs just couldn’t resist making this Pod Concept as polished and thoughtfully designed as its sprawling CBD counterparts.
“Our desire to bring our flavour of yoga to the heart of Novena meant creating a space efficient Pod Concept, with the intent of expanding the concept in the near future,” adds Pan.
Whilst the limitations of this space means it does not offer shower facilities or heating panels for hot classes, the team at YM will look to convert the space into a full-fledged signature fit out in the future.
The studio will offer all seven signature Yoga Movement class types as well as Pop Up classes, YM’s version of themed classes. All of these classes are multi-levelled, catering to Newbies and seasoned practitioners alike.
Those just starting out can join Basics to get acquainted with foundational yoga postures, while those wanting to work up a sweat can opt for the more dynamic Core or Power Flow. With an exceptionally convenient schedule offering classes throughout the day, the Novena location expects to see nearly 1,000 people flowing in their practice rooms week in, week out.
This is Yoga Movement’s sixth studio location, and as expected from these seasoned operators, Novena will provide their signature warm service and branded teaching style, 365 days a year.
