Leave behind the hustle and bustle of the city and step into La Terre for a divine experience. Award-winning sommelier, Daisuke Kawai has immense knowledge, and he’ll make sure your glasses are filled with the right wine. There’s an amazing selection of whiskey here as well and no matter which drink you select; the menu is all set to compliment your tipple. They have excellent small bites like Duck Rillettes, French Saucisson, Salmon Jerky and Cheese Plate.

What's going on down Upper Circular Road and Hong Kong Street? This area between Clark Quay MRT and Boat Quay is now funky bar central - with some of Singapore's most chichi establishments.
No more so than at La Terre, which is a beautifully designed bar, run by beautiful people and probably the most instagrammable drink photo taking place in town - a high honour in a city which prides itself on food and drinks, and the millions of photos taken of anything on a plate or in a glass.
The bar seats no more than 12 people, there are tables however for those who want a little more privacy. This would be an ideal spot for small private events and launches too.
The atmosphere is relaxed with couples having quiet drinks. We attended an event showcasing Koji straight from Japan - he makes the most fabulous cocktails - the curry negroni was a favourite. Unfortunately, this was a one night only wonder as part of the Master Series. Koji is a master bartender - or mixologist as they now prefer to be called.

LA TERRE - MASTER OF WINE & WHISKY
Kawai has over 20 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry, specialising in wines, sake and whisky.
His career has been awarded many times by international Agencies such as Japan Sommelier Association, Academy of Wines of Portugal or Society of Wine Educators, only to name the few.
However, his life-long dedication was crowned though by the Singapore World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence Best Sommelier of the Year 2013, and once again in 2017.
La Terre is the culmination of his knowledge and experience. Kawai selected La Terre’s extensive list of over 1,000 wines and whiskies.
Most of La Terre’s wines are of the old world variety, housing entry level to high-end wines from France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, and other unique wine regions, such as Lebanon and Greece.
The whisky list features interesting rarities from Japan and Scotland.
There are only one to three available bottles of some of La Terre’s more rare vintages. Because of this, the wine catalog will be changed periodically.
For those interested in learning more about wine, La Terre offers wine seminars and classes led by Kawai.
