In celebration of Singapore’s 57th birthday, voco Orchard Singapore has launched a series of F&B specials at Opus Bar and Grill and D9 Cakery to usher in the National Day festivities. Featuring a National Day Sunday brunch on 7th August and Chendol Bandung Cake for a limited period only, voco Orchard Singapore beckons all citizens to bask in the celebratory spirit.
Happening exclusively on 7th August 2022 from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, the well-loved Sunday brunch at Opus Bar and Grill will take a special twist for a weekend to spotlight local flavours. Offering a delightful indulgence of Singaporean favourites, diners can expect myriad classic and fusion dishes on top of the usual international spread. Prices start at $118++ per adult and $59++ per child with the inclusion of free-flow house-made Bandung.
Diners can also liven up their brunch experience with the addition of bottomless booze options. For $158++, they can imbibe endless glasses of Pink Prosecco, wine and beer, and for $188++, one can anticipate free-flow Laurent Perrier Brut and a Fruity DIY Mojito Station, where they can put their cocktail mixing skills to the test and add a perfect touch to the meal.
The brunch features a flavoursome Hainanese Chicken Roll with Ginger Chilli Aioli and refreshing appetisers, such as Singapore Fruit Rojak and Prawn Kerabu, that are bound to whet your appetite for the dishes ahead. Amongst the wide selection of mains, diners can find the hearty Singapore Seafood Laksa and local delicacies including Creamy Salted Egg Prawns, Kampot Black Pepper Crab and Wok Fried Trio Spice Fish.
Melding familiar Asian flavours with European influences, the spread also offers creative culinary fusions, including “Chilli Crab” Pizza, Tom Yam Aglio Olio, Moules Marinières Local Flavour and “Smoked Duck Hoisin” Pizza. Additionally, meat lovers can look forward to being spoilt for choice with the multitude of mouth-watering Asian grills, ranging from Grilled Char Siew Hangar Steak to Slow-roasted Australian Prime Ribs Rendang Crust and Satay Spice Marinated Lamb Porterhouse.
There is no better way to sweeten the celebration than with a range of contemporary desserts that have been given a local spin, including the Gula Melaka Pandan Cake, Mango Pomelo Pudding and Lychee Soy Milk Panna Cotta. Diners can also enjoy the nostalgia brought on by a selection of Potong Ice Cream with Waffle Biscuit and Colour Bread from an ice cream pushcart and traditional Singaporean goodies namely Pandan Kaya Cake, Pineapple Tarts, Olden Banana Cake and an array of Nyonya Kueh.
Alongside the Sunday brunch at Opus Bar and Grill, D9 Cakery presents the Chendol Bandung Cake, a unique amalgam of the sweets that Singaporeans adore. The glossy red-hued glazed cake that is artisanally crafted to resemble the Singapore flag and topped with distinctive gold leaf is an eye-catching masterpiece consisting of layers of Coconut Gula Melaka Mousse, Bandung Cremeux,
Pandan Genoise Sponge and Chendol Jelly. Exclusively available from 25th July to 4th August, sweet tooths can look forward to indulging in this decadent treat, which will be priced at $65 for a whole cake (1kg) and $9 per slice.
