We love the feel and the food at Tamarind Hill. Set in the Black&White, it is a great place to go if you have lots of time.
The food is excellent - a bit on the pricey side, but worth it. The reason why I did not give an 8 was because every time I was there so far, service was quite slow. They are very nice, but attentiveness could be improved.

We really were impressed by this zoo. I sometimes get sad at zoos, to see animals locked up. But here, they've made a really great effort (in my opinion), at creating really beautiful and large habitats for the animals. Try to get to animal feedings! I did the elephant and giraffe feeding. Worth it! Just get in line early enough.
One of my favorite restaurants as far as ambiance as well as quality of food. There is something special about getting out of the city and into the tranquil lush jungle of Labrador Park. But, dont be fooled! There is interesting history in the walls of Tamarind Hill. It was a doctors residence during the war, and remember to ask Boss Lady about the tunnels linking the house and the hospital. The Rambling building provides both intimate and open seating arrangements. I love sitting on the verandah facing the forest and the sea....and the food is really delicious!
We organised two seminars each of one day long for about 30 people. Food, service, ambience was fantastic. There were spaces for drinks around the beautiful bar at the end of the day. Then delicious Thai meals prepared so fine that it was hard to think of working in the afternoon! Hospitality staff were also very attentive. I would go there to have a fine Thai meal in a quiet, romantic setting. Try it out! I loved it...
We enjoyed both times I dined at tamarind Hill. the first occasion was for a girlfriends 50th birthday celebration. ten of us gathered at the restaurant for pre dinner drink in the welcoming hall followed by a 7 course birthday dinner. The meal was nothing short of divine. The second time I returned with my wife. Just the two of us. It was chilled and relaxed and once again the food was delightful.
