  • Purple Afternoon Tea Returns to the Fullerton Hotels Singapore in Celebration of International Women’s Day

To commemorate International Women’s Day (8 March), The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore will be presenting the Purple Afternoon Tea, an annual initiative to contribute to fund-raising efforts for women’s empowerment. As the official colour of International Women’s Day, purple symbolises justice and dignity and is historically associated with efforts to achieve gender equality.

Served from 1 to 31 March 2023, S$5 nett from the proceeds of each adult’s purple-hued Afternoon Tea set will be donated to United Women Singapore, a non-profit organisation that aims to advance gender equality and women's empowerment by promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) for girls and inculcating a culture of male allyship within society.

The Purple Afternoon Tea will be served at The Courtyard, located at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore (from S$51* per adult) and at The Landing Point, located at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore (from S$60* per adult).

Presented by Executive Pastry Chef Siddharth Prabhu, the Purple Afternoon Tea draws inspiration from free-spirited butterflies in a flourishing garden. Guests can look forward to a symphony of handcrafted creations, adorned with edible blossoms and purple hues.

The savoury repertoire delivers bright flavours with combinations such as Hokkaido scallop tartlet with citrus crème fraiche and Espelette pepper, Cajun smoked duck with macadamia and butterfly blue pea flower gel, as well as summer truffle egg mayonnaise and cheese puff.

Dessert lovers will be enticed by the sweet medley, designed to captivate with appearance and taste. Delicate notes of blossoms and berries are grounded by rich textures for a balanced outcome — classic violet elderberry macaron and blueberry canelé star alongside an indulgent cassis caramel white chocolate ganache tart, blackcurrant mousse dome, and more.

Guests who show their support by coming dressed in any shade of purple will also receive a complimentary glass of the ‘Purple Bloom’ cocktail (S$25*), a luscious blend of gin, black grapes, blueberry and fresh basil, topped off with champagne.

Staying true to the ritual, each set will be served with freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam, alongside the selection of loose leaf TWG teas and coffees from Bacha Coffee.
