LUCE by Davide Giacomelli Presents A Truly Italian Four-Hands Collaboration

LUCE by Davide Giacomelli celebrates one year of bistronomic excellence with an extensive lineup of month-long activities for the whole month of June 2023. In addition to the refreshed daily themed nights and a seasonal Venison menu to celebrate the Italian National Day, LUCE proudly presents an exclusive one-night-only four-hands collaboration between Chef de Cuisine Davide Giacomelli and Italian Michelin-starred Chef Francesco Gasbarro, on 9 June 2023.

No stranger to LUCE, Chef Davide helms as the Chef de Cuisine and has held stints at multiple Michelin-starred restaurants across Europe. Hailing from Florence, Italy, Michelin-starred Chef Francesco earned his star with the now defunct La Bottega. His restaurant was re-opened post-COVID lockdown under Osteria Della Bottega in Switzerland.

To commemorate LUCE by Davide Giacomelli’s milestone anniversary, Chef Davide and Chef Francesco will join forces to curate a stunning six-course menu that highlights each of their own unique culinary flair – Chef Davide who is known for his refined simplicity; and Chef Francesco’s reputation for breaking away from traditional stereotypes and going ‘Italian free-style'.

Fettuccine Bolognese by Chef Francesco

Diners will begin their evening with a glass of Prosecco and Amuse-Bouche to start. Officially kicking off the meal, guests will be served the Polpo e Peperonata by Chef Davide, a Sicilian-style octopus, pan-roasted with ratatouille of red and yellow peppers; the famed Fettuccine Bolognese by Chef Francesco – fresh homemade fettuccine with beef Bolognese ragout; the original dish that was served in his restaurant in Switzerland.

For the main event, guests will relish two dishes that are sure to leave a lasting memory. In the true essence of a four-hand collaboration, both dishes are jointly curated and prepared by Chef Davide and Chef Francesco. First up would be Halibut alla Livornese, Halibut confit prepared in grape seed oil with fresh tomato sauce, Taggiasca olives, pine nuts and parsley. This is followed by Fracosta di Manzo e Patate Dolci, Wagyu beef ribeye cooked a la plancha with sweet potatoes prepared in different textures – a delicacy that goes perfectly with a glass of Brolo Campofiorin, Masi (Veneto) 2018.

To conclude the evening, guests will enjoy Osteria Luce-Misu a combination of both restaurants’ take on the classic Italian dessert.

A signature at each of their respective restaurants, Chef Davide and Chef Francesco have designed Osteria Luce-Misu to offer the best of both worlds, combining the unique and exquisite flavours of each establishment.
