The special selection spans from an à la carte menu (from $4++ per item) for dine-in during lunchtime, to a Dim Sum Party Takeaway Set ($88 nett for 3 to 4 persons). The Steamed Xiao Long Bao with Minced Pork and Chilli Crab Meat Soup ($8++ for 4 pieces) draws inspiration from the renowned Singaporean delicacy.
Minced pork and crab meat, as well as peppery broth, are enclosed in a deftly handcrafted dumpling parcel for a hassle-free way to enjoy the popular seafood dish. A nod to the hawker culture in Singapore is Yàn’s Deep-fried Satay Pork Spring Roll ($7.50++ for 3 pieces).
Savour well-marinated and juicy pork enveloped within a crispy spring roll that is deep-fried to golden perfection. The Steamed Hainanese Chicken with Sticky Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf ($4++ per piece), a popular mainstay at Yan, showcases luscious morsels of chicken thigh nestled within glutinous rice brimming with the fragrance of lemongrass, garlic, and ginger.
Served with chilli sauce, dark soya sauce, and ginger sauce, Yàn’s iteration of chicken rice will satiate all lovers of the dish. Steamed Laksa Buns with Chicken and Mushroom ($7.50++ for 3 pieces) features fluffy buns with a generous filling of chicken and mushroom cubes infused with the signature aromatics of laksa.
The Steamed Seafood Dumpling with Shrimp Soup ($8++ per person) offers tender minced seafood paired with comforting soup. For dessert, Yàn presents a refreshing Chilled Cendol Pudding ($8++) layered with the ambrosial flavours of coconut, pandan, and gula melaka.
Commemorate the festivities at home
Enjoy a cosy celebration at home with Yàn’s National Day Dim Sum Party Takeaway Set ($88 nett for 3 to 4 persons). Available for both self-collection and delivery, the celebratory set is a seven-course spread of delectable dishes that meld local flavours with classic Cantonese favourites.
Whet the appetite with succulent Chicken Satay (12 pieces) served with cucumber, onions, and peanut gravy. Delectably fragrant, the chargrilled skewered meat boasts smokiness that evokes memories of dining at one’s favourite hawker haunts.
While Singapore’s versions of carrot cake come in both black and white, Yàn’s Wok-Fried Carrot Cake with Chinese Pork Sausage and Homemade XO Sauce offers an enticing combination of sweetness from Chinese pork sausage and savouriness from house-made XO sauce and minced preserved radish.
Complementing the feast are Seafood Mee Goreng and an array of dim sum such as Steamed Hainanese Chicken with Sticky Rice wrapped in Lotus Leaf (2 pieces), Steamed Laksa Buns with Chicken and Mushroom (4 pieces), Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumplings (4 pieces) and Steamed Pork and Prawn Dumplings topped with Fish Roe (4 pieces).
