Mayflower

The Mayflower Sydney

Mayflower, a cafe housed in an art deco structure, gives the sensation of being in a boutique floral store, and the designers have gone to great lengths to enhance the beauty of the space and celebrate fine furnishings. Step in and feel all your concerns melt away as you bite into their exquisite delicacies and enjoy a cup of fresh, delicious coffee. We enjoy their Ferrero Rocher French Toast with hazelnuts, sour cream, and grilled peaches; Croque Monsieur with an enticing truffle paste; and Calamari with kaffir lime salt, sansho pepper, lemon, and fermented kombu soy sauce. Happyfield Cafe

When you go into Happyfield Cafe, you are reminded of something shiny, chirpy, and cheerful. The canary yellow tints and a crew that matches the ambiance with their lively demeanour make this the feel-good location we've all been yearning for. Come here not only for the coffee but also for the incredible pancakes with excellent Canadian maple syrup. On other days, we stroll in to eat Eggs + Toast with Canuk Bacon and Potato Hash Brown or Drippy Eggs, which are a must-try! You can also come here for lunch and a refreshing drink or beverage. Fabbrica

Fabbrica Sydney

Fabbrica is a one-of-a-kind establishment that provides great sandwiches and baked pasta during the day and transforms into a wine bar at night, providing cocktails, natural wines, cheese and cold meats. The baked pasta delights and other goodies can be carried home, along with a bottle of wine from their excellent range. There are five tables in the courtyard, so arranging ahead of time will ensure you have a place to eat, a tradeoff we are willing to make after tasting their Beef Cheek and Cavalo Nero Lasagne. Smalls Deli

Smalls Deli

Smalls Deli is the type of establishment you'd want to visit once and then return to every day; the good news is that they provide delivery. We recommend coming down there at least once to get a feel for the location, and even have them create you a personalised sandwich to take to work. We particularly enjoy their Vinnie Barbarino sandwich, which is created fresh with smoked turkey breast, brie, rhubarb compote, and rocket on a baguette. Their Croque Monsieur is quite popular, and it is only available before eleven a.m. Pair their savoury dishes with Kombu Kombucha or Ginger & Lemon Myrtle. Image Credit: Small's Deli Facebook Page

Lox in a Box

Lox In A Box Sydney

Bagel fans will want to live here because Lox in a Box does an excellent job with them. Not only are the baked goods wonderful, but they also offer a variety of options and may be customised. We enjoy their schmear, which is house-whipped cream cheese with lemon, dill, and shallots. The bagels come with lox, hot salt beef, herbed egg salad (ideal for breakfast), vegetables, and schnitzel. Every Friday, they prepare special Shabbat Boxes that include challah, lox, dips, and pickles; don't miss out on this delight. Image Credit: Lox in a Box Facebook Page

Stix (CLOSED)

Stix Catering

Stix, which was located in Marrickville, served exceptional food crafted with farm-fresh vegetables sourced from their own farm. This cafe was a hidden gem, celebrated especially for its heavenly croissants. Diners delighted in their Omelette featuring charred farm greens, miso eggplant, and ginger shallot sauce; relished the Chapel St Oyster Mushrooms with rye, poached egg, and truffle butter, or indulged in the Creme Brulee Brioche with fresh mango and passionfruit caramel. While these dishes showcased fresh ingredients, patrons didn't miss out on their tantalizing desserts and bakes, including the Lemon Tea Cake, Dark Chocolate Mango Sphere, and Chocolate & Orange Babka.
