Why Does Foot Reflexology Hurt?

Reflexology will often hurt when the congested reflex areas are treated and in no way resembles a foot massage.

As the condition improves with several reflexology sessions, so will the soreness on the corresponding reflexes.

The well-trained reflexologist will adapt his pressure to the pain levels.

What Are The Health Benefits Of Foot Reflexology?

Stress Reduction

When we are stressed our body’s defences break down and we become more susceptible to illness and disease.

Reflexology reduces stress by generating deep tranquil relaxation, helping the body balance itself and allowing healing energy to flow.

Improved Circulation

Blood needs to flow freely throughout the body carrying oxygen and nutrients to all the cells and removing the waste products of metabolism and other toxins.

By reducing stress and tension, reflexology allows the cardiovascular vessels to conduct the flow of blood naturally and easily.

Stimulated Nerve Function

By stimulating more than 7000 nerves in the feet, reflexology encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways.

It interrupts pain pathways, reducing pain.

Improved Immune System

Reflexology stimulates the lymphatic system thus reducing the risk of infection. It cleanses the body of toxins and impurities and also stimulates the production of endorphins, leading to an improved immune system and sense of well-being.

Increased Energy

Reflexology revitalizes energy throughout the body by relaxing and opening up energy pathways.

How Often Should You Get Foot Reflexology?

If you are dealing with a specific illness or condition, you may need to have more frequent sessions.

A general recommendation might be to begin with a session every week for 6 – 8 weeks, followed by a “tune-up” every four weeks.

This is an unbiased review. The combination reflexology and neck/shoulder massage is a relaxing combination. The environment is a bit tired and old and needs a good paint job. That being said, the airconditiining was just right and the music not too trippy - as some of these massage joints can be. Overall worthy of a few return visits
