Now that You Can…Experience TXA Gastrobar and Enjoy Eating Out

Make your way to TXA Gastrobar at the Alkaff Mansion for an experience, which will tease your tastebuds and invigorate your senses.  After another round of limited dining and social gatherings, treat yourself to a wonderful setting, a sumptuous meal and if you like – a bit of libation.  You and your delayed dining desires most certainly deserve an evening meal that promises well executed preparation, lovely presentation and quite simply – a nice night out. 

 

I have enjoyed experiences at the Alkaff Mansion dining outlets over the years and by far, this Spanish infused iteration is the most enjoyable that I can remember with excellence in execution, atmosphere and presentation.  TXA Gastrobar, is inspired by Spanish Cuisine and is located at the patio level of the Mansion with both indoor and outdoor dining options.  If the weather permits, I encourage you sit outside and allow at least part of your dining experience to include the sunset.  The vista from the patio is lovely and the mood lighting puts a potentially intimate spin on a fantastic meal. 

 

The TXA Gastrobar has a wonderful menu of signature cocktails that are thoroughly recommended, if you are so inclined.  If you are a fan of Sangria, you can tailor your own with a variety of combinations to make your perfect tabletop punchbowl.  If you prefer, non-alcoholic Mocktails are on hand for you to enjoy the fun of premeal drinks under the garden lights and the looming presence of the well-kept mansion grounds. 

 

The food selection is extensive and, well, that is another phenomenal treat in store for you.  Your greatest challenge during this dining experience will be to limit the choices you order to what you can eat.   On the other hand, go for it.  If you don’t finish it all, take it away for a snack later.   

 

In my experience with friend and fellow contributor, Beth Hollahan, we overdid the food just a bit, yet we enjoyed every morsel.  If you wish not to appear being a glutton for fine gastronomy, I suggest you select what you can capacitate in a single meal and return for another selection.  The atmosphere and overall experience will call you back soon.  I am already planning my return.

 

The food at TXA Gastrobar is the quite worthy co-star to the mansion and the grounds.  You could make an entire meal of the Tapas, as is quite traditional in Spain.  If you like seafood, the Clams Andalusian Style are sumptuous perfectly prepared.  The Ham Croquettes give a bit of texture and some balance.  The Tindle Chicken Meatballs (v) are a surprising star of the Tapas Menu, brilliantly complimented by a tangy sauce and prepared exceptionally well.  Another treat I recommend is the Roasted Cauliflower, which is full of flavor, yet preserves the essence, flavor and texture of the revered vegetable.  If you are a fan of Spanish Omelets, TXA hits the mark with their preparation. 

 

The TXA ‘Char’ Grills are delectable to add to a Tapas selection.  Two that I can recommend with great enthusiasm are the Grilled Octopus and the Honey Glazed Pork Ribs.  The Octopus is tender and perfectly cooked.  The ribs are nearly falling off the bone when served, so no need to pick on bones – the meat will surrender to your fork and sate your rib craving without the mess.  Their Grill chef must be practiced, because he knows how to make his food fare surrender to just the right amount of heat. 

 

The dessert menu has an equally tantalizing selection of goodies, so save room!  One very special choice is the Churros Con Chocolate Picante.  Ummmm!!!   The Buneulos de Viento will not disappoint, and other option is to sample the Tarta De Queso “La Vina” (Burnt Cheesecake).  Now, I will be serious for a moment.  The best course of action here is to order a selection and share it will your fellow dining companions. 

 

This dining experience could be enjoyed alone, but I personally encourage you to share it with at least one deserving friend.  And, if you can rustle-up a small crowd (only the size allowed), your recommendation for TXA Gastrobar will be most appreciated for atmosphere, great food and drink, and service that makes you feel like you and your guests are important.
