Drunken Farmer

Drunken Farmer

Doughn’t you just love Sourdough? If so, head over to Drunken Farmer as they have an entire menu focused around sourdough bread, courtesy of chef Paul Albert. We’re talking pizzas, fried chicken, waffles and much more. Drunken Farmer, as the name suggests, is one of Singapore’s most cherished travelling natural wine bars. It started with the goal of helping Singaporean diners drown in natural wines. It took some time but after its inauguration in 2019, it is now permanently located along Stanley Street. Trust me, the wine connoisseurs are going to be in for a real treat. Image Credit: Drunken Farmer Facebook Page

Tapas 24

Tapas 24

The spirit list at Tapas 24 is jaw dropping! Think sangrias, cocktails, gin and tonic, beer, wines, whiskeys and whatnot. The first Asian branch of Barcelona’s most famous tapas bar is about to open in just a couple of days and we assure you that you won’t be disappointed. With Chef Carles Abellán at the Barcelona branch, they are bound to have some mouth watering signatures like truffle “bikini” sandwiches, chicken croquettes and Spanish Tortillas. So gear up folks- just two days to go before this outlet opens its doors to welcome customers. I don’t think anybody will care enough about the pandemic with Tapas 24 around the corner. Ebi Bar

Ebi Bar

If you’re in the mood for delicious, slurpy prawn noodles and the rich umami flavoured broth that comes with it, then you’re in for a treat. This is a local noodle bar which looks like a ramen store at a first glance. However, it is anything but. The menu card is not exhaustive and comprises four main noodle dishes. Look out for the signature bowl- the Chao Da or Charred Ebi Noodles. It is a filling bowl of long, slippery noodles done al dente, swimming in a thick, creamy and luscious broth bursting with flavours with the first sip. The best part: a pair of prawns burnt to perfection. Image Credit: Ebi Bar Facebook Page

GIO-Gourmet Italian Osteria

GIO

Nothing pleases people more than a plate of sizzling hot pasta loaded with tangy sauces, fresh vegetables and lots of cheese. Even better if the kitchen is helmed by an Italian chef, in this case, David Marchiori. As we all know, the local crowd in Singapore absolutely loves to indulge in this Italian blockbuster, and it doesn’t get better than GIO. Some crowd pleasers include the signature Rigatoni alla Carbonara- a hearty bowl of rigatoni mixed with some meaty guanciale, egg yolks and Pecorino Romano cheese, and the Pizza Fritta- a deep fried Naples pizza with copious amounts of toppings embedded deep in the dough of the pizza, making them ooze out little by little with every bite. Honestly, does it get better than that? Image Credit: GIO - Gourmet Italian Osteria Facebook Page

Drunken Farmer is a study and appreciation of wines grown on land that is undisturbed and unharmed; land that is given a chance to be re-energized to its fullest, most natural potential. Where every bottle is a messenger of the soil and a triumph of the natural wine movement, which respects a meticulous, bespoke process from farmer to glass.
