Celebrate National Fish & Chips Day on Friday 4 June 2021 with a Month Long Islandwide Delivery as Greenwood Fish Market gives their hot selling Fish & Chips a makeover with Tusk Fish and Black Cod from 1 to 30 June 2021. Now, who could ask for more?

Specially brought in for the occasion, experience these premium catches as Fish & Chips (Tusk Fish: $19.95, Black Cod: $32.95) or, in DIY Fish & Chip Kits (Tusk Fish: $64.95, Black Cod: $84.95) available via online orders with Islandwide Delivery and self pick-up.

With Phase 2 [Heightened Alert], the event hopes to create an occasion to look forward to - particularly, by rekindling everyone's love for go-to comfort food. "The usual snapper, barramundi, and haddock are great but we love to discover (and share) new finds too - it helps that we have a growing range of fresh seafood on rotation," says Chef Alan Lee.

Greenwood Fish Market

The ready-to-eat Fish & Chips features a custom blend of three flours - the brand's wellkept secret since 2003. All secret flour mixes, with Tusk Fish or Black Cod fillets and fries, are included in each DIY Fish & Chip kit for those keen on a hands-on kitchen project. For traditionalists who prefer the classics, regular choices of Fish & Chips (House: $11.50, Snapper: $16.50, Barramundi: $16.50) will still be available as well.

While Greenwood Fish Market will do their best to ensure a consistent supply of these premium varieties, kindly note that availabilities are subject to shipments given the evolving Covid-19 situation. Tusk Fish is a relatively unknown choice in the Fish & Chips world. Tusk Fish is usually used in grilling, baking, and stews. Chef Alan uncovered its potential as a battered fillet a few years back and hopes to bring this discovery back, and the Black Cod is a connoisseur's true blue favourite, the higher price tag is justified with the fish's rich taste and buttery flakiness.

Giving Back with #MakeSomeonesDayBatter during this period, customers may opt to add a $6 donation to any Fish & Chips ordered online and Greenwood Fish Market will match it dollar for dollar. For every donation received, a set of Fish & Chips will be sent to healthcare workers at the end of the month to #MakeSomeonesDayBatter.

RATED 8 / 8

Greenwood Fish Market do a flipping amazing Fish & Chips to go. With anything that has a crunch, I often worried about the loss of texture if I did delivery.

But having been through a long stint of restrictions in different forms, I mastered the art of keeping the crunch. And the simple answer to that was to chuck it in the oven at about 180 for 2-4 minutes maximum, chips and all - just to bring that touch of crisp back. The Fish & Chips arrive quite warm to hot - but the added hit of heat does wonders - for all delivery options, not just Fish & Chips

My faith in Greenwood Fish Market having eaten there over the years was unwavering. I knew in terms of quality that the fish used to batter this traditional and ever so satisfying oldie was going to be the best.

If you have not tried this yet, there are two options of fish – black cod and tusk fish. Priced at $32.95 and $19.95 respectively this well packed box comes with chips.

If you are a mad tartare sauce diner like me then this is also contained in the pack, as is the sweet and sour sauce. Not sure about you but I love chips with salt and vinegar, a la traditional yet again.

I was not aware of National Fish & Chips Day which falls on 4 June. This is why Greenwood Fish Market decided to offer two different fish varieties compared to the usual snapper, barramundi and haddock.

A month long special for the month of June it would be a good time to order delivery and try a the Greenwood fish & chips makeover. If however you are a traditionalist and prefer the usual fare this is available too.

The Greenwood Fish Market have their heart in the right place and have put in place a give back donation drive. Named #MakeSomeonesDayBatter consider adding a $6 donation to any fish n chips order online and it will be matched dollar for dollar.

Healthcare workers will be sent a fish & chips set at month end for every donation received. That just sweetens the deal in my mind!

A worthy cause to say thank you to workers behind the scenes who have toiled tirelessly. These heroes deserve it. So schedule that meal from The Greenwood Fish Market for your fish n chips fix.

You will be guaranteed of fresh produce and it’ll be for a worthy cause too!
