Friends of Wildlife (FOW), the local membership programme for the wildlife parks at Mandai Wildlife Reserve just grew wilder, in time for Singapore’s birthday celebrations. From 8 August 2022, members can look forward to perks like priority access and bookings to park events, as well as exclusively curated experiences.
Built on the vision of providing access for the local community of diverse segments to enjoy authentic and meaningful wildlife experiences, the homegrown brand continually refreshes its engagement with local residents by creating new options and reasons to visit. The FOW offers individuals and families year-round access to Singapore’s wildlife parks across two membership tiers - Friends of Wildlife and Friends of Wildlife Plus.
The new slogan for the membership, ‘Every Moment Counts’, is a dual invitation to local residents. It is a call for members to be a friend of wildlife by growing their own appreciation for animal species with every visit and taking actions in their daily lives to protect nature and the planet.
It also calls on locals to harness the benefits of annual access from their memberships to visit Singapore’s wildlife parks over and over again and grow their nature quotient, as they collect as many memories as they can with loved ones.
The refreshed membership introduces added benefits and engagement opportunities specially curated for all members:
Priority access – Be the first to receive news about park events and be invited to experience the activities during Members’ Wild Week before they launch to the public
Priority bookings and preferential member rates – Enjoy priority bookings and discounts on wildlife tours, staycations, exclusive events, and many more
Exclusive programmes – Participate in curated workshops open only to members and opportunities to get more involved in the sustainability initiatives at Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s parks
A wild National Day, join the animal ambassadors at Mandai Wildlife Reserve’s parks this August as they commemorate Singapore’s 57th birthday at animal presentations across Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Jurong Bird Park.
At Singapore Zoo, birthday wishes for the nation will be shared in a special presentation at Splash Safari, Rainforest Fights Back and Animal Friends, while Asian Small-clawed Otters will take the stage at River Wonders’ Once Upon a River to encourage visitors to recycle and help keep Singapore clean and green. Jurong Bird Park will put up its very own aerial display at High Flyers, where Sassy the Cockatoo will fly the Singapore flag.
The Animal Care team is also putting a new spin on the enrichment activities for the animals in their care. Look out for the African Lions at Singapore Zoo as they break open a pinata to get at their favourite treats or observe the Straw-headed Bulbul, a species native to Singapore, as it forages from a National Day-themed hanging feeder at Jurong Bird Park.
Other species with themed enrichment activities to look out for, include the Orangutans at Singapore Zoo and Sunda Pangolin at Night Safari. Download the ‘Wild About Singapore Checklist’ for all the festive enrichment activities and complete the checkpoints to redeem national day themed animal magnets.
