NTUC Club is pulling out all the stops this festive season in Downtown East. Possibly the biggest festive celebration in the heartland, Downtown East's galaxy-themed Space Odyssey Christmas has opened, with not one but four programmes to keep everyone enthralled.
SPACE OUT! raised the curtain on Nov 4, taking visitors on a one-of-its-kind cosmic expedition through a series of interactive XR and new media art experiences, followed by Mega Carnival (Nov 19), FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 (Nov 20), and Transformers Pop-up Truck (Dec 24 & 25).
The curated programmes aim to appeal to a wider audience of different interests. For starters, the must-see "intergalactic" SPACE OUT! exhibition - which takes place in three locations at Downtown East - lets one step into a completely new universe.
In this awe-inspiring presentation, a group of 10 local and international artists will display their uber cool VR artworks using virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) as well as interactive light projection.
SPACE OUT! is presented by Downtown East, supported by the National Arts Council and produced by GOF-Y. - Free entry.
Virtual Reality (VR) Pods Journey Beyond Limits

Check out the never-before-seen VR painting artworks by local artists Christine Lok, Fauxe, ScRach MarcS, tobyato, and YANGERMEISTER, as well as breathtaking 360° outer space videos by SpaceCinema.
Visitors will also get the chance to create their own VR paintings - with the world as their canvas and their imagination as their palette.
Augmented Reality (AR) First Universion

If you could create your own planet, what would it look like? Visual artist Joy Ho imagines a world of cosmic living where adorable alien inhabitants, blobians, roam free and imitating planet Earth and the human species.
Visitors can follow the tour led by one of the blobians when they bring the artwork to life with AR.
Outdoor Interactive Light Projection Space Odyssey

The titular Space Odyssey by HOLOGRIX is an awesome outdoor light installation using video projection. It transports you to the surface of Mars and the Moon, where you can touch the stars, move planets with your hands, and see our home, the Earth, in all its glory. It is inspired by the science fiction notion of the metaverse; an immersive virtual world that is facilitated using VR and AR - and its real-world possibilities of transporting people to different realms.
Check out this engaging light projection daily from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
Mega Carnival

Bring your little ones for a jurassic adventure! Get on dinosaur rides, viking rides, interactive dinosaur ball pits and sandpits, merry-go-rounds, and more. The star of the show - a majestic 4-m tall and 10-m long animatronic dinosaur - will awe visitors.
Check out the eye-catching inflatables for kids to run on and bounce around.
Adrenaline junkies can initiate a challenge with family or friends at four VR stations with different games. Pick your rush: a high-intensity shooting game; space ventures in a spaceship; ski down from the world's highest peaks; and an exhilarating motorbike obstacle ride.

Transformers Pop-up Truck

What's so special: The Optimus Prime-inspired truck will make a stop at Downtown East to mark the rollout of the all-new Transformers: EarthSpark TV show on Nickelodeon.
Note: This is the only stop in the East on Christmas weekend. Don't miss it!
At this special pop-up activation, come in your favourite Transformers outfits and get the chance of a lifetime to snap insta- worthy photos.
Fans can also customize their very own tree Transformers collectible.
FIFA Fever
