We stayed for 10 days at The Residence on Bintan Island and had a wonderful time there.
The almost new villas are beautifully designed with modern Asian elements, perfectly kept in shape and spacious to feel 100% comfortable and relaxed.
Friendliness of staff is extraordinary, always trying to make the guests feel comfortable and being very helpful.
Main restaurant was very nice and breakfast choices very good with Asian food and western picks, fresh cut fruit like papaya, mangosteen, drake fruit, very tasty pineapple etc super fresh and very juicy!
At the wonderful Indonesian cuisine Rica-Rica Restaurant (pronounced Rizza-Rizza) they offer wonderful delights from Indonesia. Beautiful Indonesian modern ambient and picture view of the beach and the ocean.
The pool team with the bar manager Prasad was great and we enjoyed a good time and great service with them. Pool area itself seems a bit undersized if more guests stay at the resort, even though during our stay - except on weekends- it was no problem.
WIFI coverage was good and available everywhere, only exception at far end of the pool area (minor point)
One of the highlights of our stay was a cooking class with the Executive Chef Lambok and his team, Chef Nurdjag (Babe), Pastry Chef Rudy Yuhanto and the people helping and preparing everything.
This great team gave us very interesting insights into the diverse Indonesian cuisine and how to prepare the wonderful dishes.
Cutting of all ingredients was quite a learning experience :-) and of course as hard as we tried it would take us years if ever to come even close to what the team can do.,, eventually with the support and guidance of Lambok and team we could successfully finished the journey and deeply enjoy the Sate Lilit Pork with Sambal Matah, a real delicous special dip.
After that we cooked a fantastic main course Gangan Ikan Kakop (Red Snapper with a number of very nice ingredients including Indonesian ginger flower and a ‘magic’ desert ‘Es Cendol’.., no way to describe with words, you need to try it to get the real taste...
The entire stay was a joy and we can recommend this resort to all who are looking for elegance, modern style, comfort peaceful time to relax and recharge energy with great staff doing everything to have a great time!
