Opened in April 2025, Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree delivers a transformative forest-stay experience at the heart of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, Singapore’s integrated wildlife and nature destination. Designed to harmonise with its lush surroundings, the 4.6-hectare resort blends sustainable architecture with the spirit of discovery, offering guests an escape into nature just a short drive from the city centre. Guests enjoy direct access to Singapore’s renowned wildlife attractions, including the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, and the Rainforest Wild.

According to General Manager Glen Cook, the resort is a "launchpad for Singaporeans and tourists to discover the marvels of nature and wildlife." As the Banyan Group's symbolic homecoming property, the resort continues the brand's history of immersive experiences, providing guests with special wildlife encounters, world-class spa treatments, and moments of thoughtful rejuvenation aimed at strengthening one's connection to nature.

A Resort Shaped by the Rainforest

Grand Mandai Treehouse

The resort was designed with a biophilic philosophy in mind, with mature trees around the premises. Its high wings allow native species to roam freely beneath them, and the architecture reflects the rainforest's rich splendour. WOW Architects designed the 338-room residence to harmoniously mix with the forest canopy, with natural materials and green spaces generating a sense of calm and ecological respect.

Upon arrival, travellers are met by two prominent trees: the Rain Tree (Samanea saman) and the Indian Beech (Millettia pinnata), both of which have been kept in their original settings. These massive guardians represent the resort's dedication to living in harmony with the environment. The lobby's nature-inspired lighting and repurposed wood furnishings create a cosy, grounded atmosphere that combines modern comfort with environmental consciousness.

Nature-Inspired Accommodation

Nature-Inspired Accommodation

The resort has 24 elevated treehouses that resemble seed pods and provide refuge within the canopy. Each has a private terrace facing the forest, and the main five-story resort building rises vertically to frame views of the rainforest, gardens, and reservoir. Interiors are inspired by the tropical ecosystem, with artwork illustrating the forest's strata and vintage lithographs of native animals such as the smaller mousedeer, white-collared kingfisher, and Sumatran flying dragons.

The resort's design emphasises sustainability with natural ventilation, energy-efficient technology, and water conservation. Guest rooms have interactive monitors that monitor power usage, encouraging responsible consumption. Rainwater is collected and repurposed, and the resort is the first Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy resort in Singapore, demonstrating its commitment to the environment.

A Haven for Reflection and Celebration

Meranti Ballroom

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree has a 300-seat Meranti Ballroom that is inspired by the forest floor's hidden world. Its centrepiece design was inspired by the Bridal Veil Stinkhorn mushroom, which is known for its ethereal beauty. The ballroom and adjoining Bridal Room provide magnificent spaces for weddings, business gatherings, and memorable events in the tranquil setting of nature.

Rejuvenation Rooted in Tradition

Banyan Tree Spa

Mandai Rainforest Resort's Banyan Tree Spa combines traditional Asian medical traditions with modern health. Its three treatment pods, designed like the Sunda pangolin's scales, provide personal sanctuaries of tranquilly while symbolising protection and restoration. Each treatment uses time-honoured techniques and natural ingredients including fragrant oils, herbs, and spices to restore harmony to the mind, body, and spirit.
