Open lawns, groves, parks, greenery, trees, nature, vegetation… The list keeps going on. These are the words which come to mind while talking about picnic spots. Well, add an environmental early childhood centre to it and you’re looking at Sengkang Riverside Park. Oh and did you know, there is a perfectly circular turf which seems like the quintessential spot for a picnic? It’s beautifully spacious for those who don’t like things to be all cramped up, and shady (in the best possible way), so head on over to SRP. We assure you, it will be the best day you’ve had in a long time.

Sengkang Riverside Park is absolutely breath-taking and its floating wetland is a hub for bird watching. Carry your binoculars and spot beautiful feathered beauties like Purple Heron, Little tern and Collared Kingfisher as well as colourful dragonflies.

The Punggol Reservoir runs through Sengkang Riverside Park, creating a calm and tranquil setting. Hike the many trails or jog along the park connector to get to Waterway Park or Punggol Promenade. The constructed wetlands are home to many aquatic plants, as well as mangrove birds and damselflies.

You can also make a trip to Singapore’s largest man-made wetland, PUB’s Sengkang Floating Island. If you’d like to grab a bite to eat, there is a cafeteria located in the park as well.
