Just 5.6 kilometres south of Singapore, Kusu Island is best for day-trippers, as staying overnight or camping is not permitted. To get here, hop on a public ferry from Marina South Pier. The one-hour journey includes a stop at St John's Island first.

Kusu Island is one of the Southern Islands in Singapore, located about 5.6 kilometres to the south of the main island of Singapore and below the Singapore Straits. "Kusu" means "Tortoise Island" or "Turtle Island" in Hokkien; the island is also known as Peak Island or Pulau Tembakul in Malay. wikipedia

Also called the ‘Tortoise Island’ or ‘Turtle Island’, Kusu has a legend behind it; a tortoise was said to have turned itself into an island to save men from shipwreck.

Today, it is flocked by tortoises and of course, tortoise enthusiasts. Apart from having the beach fun, you can also explore the pristine swimming lagoons.
